Skins in Minecraft are used to change the appearance of their character and have no effect on the gameplay or mechanics of the game. Skins can be obtained online through different websites such as minecraftskins.com. Once you have selected the skin of your choice, click “upload to Minecraft.net”. Doing so will prompt a log-in page, and after you log in simply press upload to apply the skin to your character in the game.
Skins were added very early on in the development of Minecraft, specifically in the 0.11.0 update. The world of Minecraft skins was shaken up in 2014 when a brand new, slimmer player model was also introduced into the game.
After the introduction of this new player model, skins were sorted into two categories; those designed for the bulky classic model and those designed for the new slim model. The slim model specifically makes the arms of the character 1-pixel thinner and sets out to provide a more feminine aesthetic to the character.

Step-1 Making sure your game is not running while changing your skin, simply visit one of the websites linked above and choose a skin that you like.
Step-2 Now simply select your chosen skin by clicking on it. After this, you should hopefully find one of three buttons visible which should be “Upload to Minecraft.net”, “Update” or “Change”.
Step-3 After clicking one of the aforementioned buttons, a page should open up that will send you to Minecraft.net. On this page, proceed to log in to your Minecraft account.
