The BMX bike in GTA V is modeled after the Ashtabula Black Diamond BMX bike, which is evident from the padded frame and handlebars. It has an improved design with taller handlebars and larger wheels compared to its previous iteration in GTA San Andreas, but it lacks a bell.
In GTA V, the BMX has been made even smaller, and it only has one brake on the right handlebar. Unlike its description, the in-game model does not feature any pegs. However, the bike comes in various primary colors for the frame, providing a range of customization options.
The BMX bike is a nimble and maneuverable bicycle that is not as fast as some of the other bikes in the game, including the Tri-Cycles, Whippet, Endurex, and Scorcher, but is faster than the Cruiser. While it may not be the fastest bike, the BMX is able to perform stunts such as bunny hops and wheelies with ease, thanks to its small size and lightweight.
However, players must be cautious while performing stunts, as the wheels can become dislodged if the player collides with another object or vehicle at high speeds.
This vehicle cannot be modified.
In Daddy's Little Girl, one of the bikes that spawns at the bike rental place is a BMX.
Three NPCs are on BMX’s during the mission Hood Safari, when the player approaches the cul-de-sac. This is a reference to the mission "Sweet & Kendl" in GTA: San Andreas.
Spawns at the half pipe at Broker Park, in East Vinewood.
Can be found ridden by the Ballas around Grove Street in Davis.
Sometimes spawns at the half pipe at BJ Smith Recreational Center.
Can be found parked or being used by NPCs at the Skate Park at Vespucci Beach.
Can be found beside the Big O Fruit Juice stand on Arthur's Pass Trails, Vinewood Hills, Los Santos County.
Can be found around the streets and alleyways in Chamberlain Hills with The Families members riding them.
Often seen being ridden by some cyclists at the Redwood Lights Track during the evening.
Can be purchased from the Pedal and Metal Cycles site for $500.
Can be spawned by using a cheat code “BANDIT”.
Despite not having a bell, NPCs will still react to the player if they repeatedly press the "horn" button near them.
If the player manages to take a BMX to the boundary limits where vehicles stop working, the BMX will behave like a motorbike with a failed engine, with Michael, Trevor or Franklin acting as if they were trying to start the engine.
In the Demo of the game, Michael is seen riding a BMX.
