Norm Richards was a big follower of Michael Townley to the point that he left his family when he came to know Michael Townley had died. He used to be a family man but then got into robbery. He robbed a warehouse from which he earned $10,000 which he spent on drugs and prostitutes. Norm Richards is a very big fan of Michael and has a lot of respect for him, which shows during the heists.

Norm Richards can be chosen as the gunman for the following heists and will have the following outcomes.

The Jewel Store Job - If he is chosen as the gunman in the loud approach, while he is in charge of the hostages, one will try to escape and Michael comes to deal with it. In the smart approach he drops some of the jewelry collected by him due to which the most possible cash cannot be obtained. In both approaches during the getaway, his bike will have a problem due to which he will crash and get killed before entering the sewer, also dropping the loot. Franklin can however collect his bag of loot.

The Paleto Score - If he is chosen as the gunman, he will get killed during the escape when the police car rams into him, crushing him against the wall. His bag of money can be picked up near his body.

The Bureau Raid - If he is chosen as the gunman in the covert approach, he will die in the explosion during the escape from the FIB building. If he is chosen along with Daryl Johns or Hugh Welsh, he or the other gunman will die randomly in the explosion. Hence to save him, keep repeating the mission until he doesn’t die. In the roof approach, he survives and does not cause any complications.

The Big Score - If chosen as the first gunman in the subtle approach, he will have trouble loading the gold into the Gauntlet and will cause a loss of around $18,000,000 in gold. If chosen as the second gunman there will be no consequences. In the obvious approach he will do a good job as the first gunman, but if chosen as the second gunman without prior experience, there is a chance he will die in the shootout with the police if not protected by the player.

Norm Richards is usually seen dressed in a gray suit. He has short hair and a thick mustache. He is a well built man and always has a serious look on his face.

• Norm knows about Michael changing his name from Townley to De Santa, as he mentions it if chosen for The Jewel Store Job. Michael will then tell him to be quiet to which Norm nervously replies "Uhhh...be cool man. Your secret's safe with me...us."

• During the roof entry approach of The Bureau Raid, Norm will bring a rainbow parachute. Michael will comment on it, asking him if he was aware that he was buying a parachute for a stealth op. Norm promises that next time, he will bring a parachute just like Michael's. Franklin will defend Norm, saying that due to his low cut, the rainbow parachute is probably all he can afford.
