The Tailgater is a four-door sedan in GTA V manufactured by Obey. It belongs to the sedan vehicle class in the game. The Obey Tailgater cannot be found in free roam as it is a unique car. The Tailgater in GTA V has a design inspired by the Audi A6 and A8, with additional features inspired by the Audi RS6, Holden Commodore, and Ford Falcon FG X. It has a dominant grille, non-functional circular fog-lamps, and a large body bulge. The car features thin B and C pillars, long D pillars, and a slightly curved chrome strip connecting both tail lamps.
It has twin rectangular exhaust tubes and the manufacturer's emblem is seen above the chrome strip. The car has a single color, but the secondary color is applied as a wide stripe across the roof and rear end. The interior stitching matches the primary color and the wheels share the same rim design with the "Obey RS" rims.
The Tailgater in GTA V boasts impressive performance, comparable to that of most sports cars. Its above-average acceleration and top speed allow it to hold its ground against the likes of the Exemplar or F620. The car offers decent grip at lower speeds, though it may tend to understeer without the use of brakes.
Additionally, it is a durable vehicle that can take several hard hits before showing any signs of damage. The Tailgater shares its engine sound with other vehicles like the Sentinel, Gresley, Surano, and Schafter.

A red Tailgater is driven by Franklin after The Big Score Obvious Approach is completed. (Obvious)
After purchasing the LSPD Auto Impound the Tailgater appears in one of the towing missions. It can then be obtained by entering the car and performing the character switch trick.
Right after completing the mission Complications, the player can drive away with one of the Tailgaters parked at the Premium Deluxe Motorsport dealership.
At the end of Eye in the Sky, Franklin is instructed to take either of the two Tailgaters left in the hangar to drive away from the airport.
The default radio stations for the Tailgater are Los Santos Rock Radio, Vinewood Boulevard Radio and Radio Mirror Park.
Even though the car lacks B pillars, its passenger seat belt anchors will appear mounted on the space between the doors.
Two variants of the Tailgater appear in the handling files, both appearing as "TAILGATE" and featuring almost identical handling lines. One appears to be unused.
Some of the bodywork modifications appear to have minor modelling issues. This issue is more apparent in the case of the rear bumpers, where black lines are more visible.
