The Tropic in GTA V maintains its prominent features from its previous iteration but has undergone a handling overhaul in response to a major revamp of vehicle physics. The boat's weight has been significantly reduced, resulting in higher speeds that are still inferior to those of speedboats and newer watercraft.
Although less versatile than the Seashark, the Tropic is a safer option for narrow waterways, as the Seashark is prone to damage and passenger ejection in collisions. The boat is equipped with twin inboard engines with Z-drive propellers, which produce a low-revving engine sound that is similar to that of cars like the Jackal and the modern Police Cruiser.
The Tropic in GTA V is smaller than other speedboats, with a short, wide hull that curves slightly towards the stern. The cabin is finished in black with a sleek windshield and two bucket seats in the front and bench seats in the back. The boat has conventional propellers and small vents at the rear.
It retains its original design with circular headlights on the bow and rugged metal flooring on the swim step. The rollbar loops on the seats have been removed, and analog "Truck" dials have been added in the enhanced version.
The vehicle spawns with the same extras, but the roofed variants have been removed. There are also more color sets available for customization.
This vehicle cannot be modified.
This vehicle does not appear in any storyline missions of GTA V.
Randomly spawns around the Puerto Del Sol Yacht Club.
Can be purchased by the player from the DockTease site for $22,000.
In GTA Online, the Tropic is available for free as a companion vehicle with the Orion Galaxy Super Yacht, with the color of the boat corresponding to the color of the yacht.
In GTA San Andreas, if the player jumps on the bow (front) of the Tropic and walks towards the front window, CJ will suddenly appear either underwater, underneath the Tropic or appear in Blue Hell.
