The Benson in GTA V has been redesigned for its new role as a moving truck, with a new ramp door in place of the previous loading bay and trolley. Based on the International 4700 delivery truck, the Benson now has a larger heavy-duty push bar from the Hauler, a plastic front bumper, and a redesigned grille without 3D horizontal parts. The side shutters are now flat, and new marker lights have been added.
The truck's interior has also been added, and vehicles can be transported by lowering the rear door, although they tend to become stuck and explode. The Benson is now painted in a single color and features six new liveries. The truck also has a CB radio, and occasional trucker chatter can be heard when playing as Trevor in Blaine County.
The Benson has improved speed and acceleration compared to its previous appearance in GTA IV. However, its acceleration still leaves much to be desired, and its low-geared setup means that it takes many shifts before it can reach its top speed.
Despite this, it has good durability and can withstand a lot of damage, making it useful for transportation missions that involve a lot of combat. The vehicle's weight has decreased slightly, making it easier to handle and push other vehicles out of the way.
The Benson is equipped with a twin-cam inline-4 engine with a turbocharger, although the badges on the vehicle indicate that it has a V8 engine. The engine sound is shared with other trucks in the game, but the Benson seems to be able to rev higher than them.
This vehicle cannot be modified.
Franklin and Lamar - The Benson appears in the mission as it reverses out and blocks the way of Franklin and Lamar forcing them to change their path.
The Jewel Store Job - Michael uses the Benson during the escape to take out police cruisers.
Can be commonly seen in Burton and Alta
Sometimes found driven on the highways around Murrieta Heights and also near Elysian Island.
In Franklin's trailer, the Benson is seen with the original GTA IV push bar, chrome bumper and 3D grille during The Jewel Store Job escape segment.
Pulling a dead body from a Benson will cause an animation glitch where the character will first sit inside the Benson, clipping through the body, and subsequently push it outside.
A vehicle resembling the Benson can be found in Rockstar North's Manhunt. It has a unique blue and white Carcer Move livery. This Benson has smaller wheels, a longer roof and container. It closely resembles the HD Universe Benson rather than the 3D Universe Benson.
