Events of GTA 5

In the "The Bureau Raid" mission, if players choose the roof entry, the pilot appears at the NOOSE Headquarters. He leads the crew to the helicopter and instructs Michael to fly it to the jump zone. Once there, the pilot takes control of the helicopter.

During a hacking sequence at the FIB Headquarters, Michael urges the pilot to bring the helicopter closer. However, a FIB Buzzard spots them and shoots down the helicopter, causing it to crash and killing the pilot while also causing significant damage to the FIB building.

In the mission The Bureau Raid, Haines’ Pilot says to Michael, “If you want to pilot the first leg, I'll take over once you jump.”
During the mission an FIB Buzzard will see the helicopter over the building and shoot it down, resulting in the helicopter crashing, killing the pilot and severely damaging a few floors of the FIB Headquarters.
