Hood Safari in GTA 5

Hood Safari is a storyline mission in GTA V played as protagonists Franklin Clinton and Trevor Philips.

This mission starts when the player visits Franklin’s house in Strawberry while playing as Franklin or Trevor. Franklin is seen speaking to his Aunt Denise and Lamar while they tell him about how he has not been faithful to the gang, by hanging out and doing jobs with older men (Michael and Trevor). Suddenly, Trevor enters the scene saying that he wanted to make friends, as he was new to town. Trevor wants to do something to pass his time and Lamar mentions a drug deal to Franklin related to the Ballas gang. Trevor tags along with the two and they set out for Davis.

A Ballas gang member opens the door slightly and Lamar indirectly lets him know that he is here with the money. The gang member gives Lamar a sample and Lamar and Franklin give the deal a green light, but Trevor feels something is wrong. Trevor asks to taste the other side of the brick and snatches it from the gang member’s hand, breaking it into two. They see that it was just drywall coated with a small amount of white powder. The gang member calls out to the others on the street and closes the door, which begins a gunfight.

Trevor, Franklin and Lamar take out the gang members and escape to the Storm Water Drain after also being ambushed by the Police. They escape on Jet Skis parked by the water where MC Clip is shooting a music video. They get away and split up. Now, depending on which protagonist the player is playing, the player can either pair up with someone while escaping, or all three of them split up. Trevor goes to the Vanilla Unicorn, Franklin to his house and Lamar has to be dropped at his place near Franklin’s house.

A few cops are killed by Franklin Clinton, Trevor Philips and Lamar Davis.

After Mission

After this mission, Trevor visits Wade and his cousin Floyd at Floyd’s apartment. Trevor hears about some loot that has arrived at the docks. As Floyd works at the docks, Trevor asks him to accompany him and Wade on a trip to the docks disguised as workers.

Trivia

The mission was originally going to be called "Ghetto Safari" and "Urban Safari".
During the shootout, Lamar may say additional lines if the player uses a sniper rifle.
Trevor may yell, "Chamberlain Families for life, motherfuckers!", a reference to how the Grove Street Families motto is, "Grove 4 Life"; he also yells this line in Lamar Down.
The mission can be seen in the pre-release screenshot, but its name was never revealed at the time. It was also featured in the first-person reveal trailer.
