Minisub is a heist setup mission in GTA V played as protagonist Trevor Philips. It is unlocked after completing Scouting the Port.
After the mission Scouting the Port, Trevor receives a text from Wade informing him about the Sub that he has seen down at the docks on a ship called the Daisy-Lee. Trevor goes to the Port and sees the submarine suspended in the air by a crane. He shoots the cables holding the submarine with a sniper rifle which drops the submarine into the water.
Trevor then has to swim to the submarine and take control of it. Floyd waits for Trevor at another place along the port of Los Santos to where Trevor has to take the submarine. Floyd helps lift it up and onto a trailer after which the duo drive it to a port warehouse to store it for a few days.

There are no rewards for this mission as it is a heist setup mission.
If the Freight Approach is chosen the crew begin the Merryweather Heist, however, if the offshore approach is chosen Trevor will have to also steal the Cargobob from Fort Zancudo.
This mission is the only heist set-up mission to appear in both Option A and Option B of a heist set-up.
It is possible to unhook the trailer from the Packer and grab a different truck to pull the trailer. However, during the Merryweather Heist, the same Packer used to pull the Submersible will appear instead of the different truck the player used earlier.
This mission is one of the first instances in the game where Dolphins can be observed. Several will usually take interest in the Submersible, and can be identified by their calls.
During the mission, the Submersible stays on the trailer and will not move unless by hard collisions. However, after finishing the mission, if the player attempts to take the trailer it may cause the sub to shake violently to the point it explodes.

A. To receive the gold medal, complete the mission within 8 mins and 30 seconds by skipping the cutscenes and get to the submarine without entering the Freight ship by going around to the other side and shooting the cables thus dropping the submarine into the water.
