The entire map in GTA 5 is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean. It is home to sharks and underwater vegetation. Flying to the end in a plane will cause its engine to shut down and crash, thus killing the player. If you escape the plane and swim to the end, a shark spawns and kills you. However if that is also avoided, the player dies to a death barrier. NPC controlled boats can also be encountered in the Pacific Ocean.
