Paleto Score Setup is a setup mission for the main Paleto Score heist mission in GTA 5 and is performed by protagonists Michael De Santa and Trevor Philips.
This setup mission is unlocked after completing the mission Minor Turbulence. To start this mission, the player has to visit the Ace Liquor store marked as B on the map as either Michael or Trevor. Trevor and Michael start arguing in his office while they are interrupted by Dave Norton and Steve Haines who arrive to give them a brand new mission.
They tell Michael and Trevor that they need them to steal a biological weapon from the Humane Labs for which they will need special equipment. The funds for this equipment will have to be sourced by Michael and Trevor themselves. After Dave and Steve leave, Michael comes up with the idea of calling Lester. Trevor and Michael leave in a car and ask Lester to meet them in Blaine County. They drive to the bus stop where Lester will arrive and wait there overnight.
Lester arrives and tells them to drive to the Paleto Bay Savings bank, the piggybank of all the corrupt cops of Blaine County who have money extorted from farmers and other workers collected there. They arrive at the entrance after which Lester instructs Michael to drive to the back. Michael then has to shoot the alarm system to trigger it falsely so as to study and observe the reaction of the cops. They wait by a petrol station beside the bank and observe that the cops respond within around 67 seconds. Realizing that this amount of time is very less to make an escape peacefully, they decide to leave.
Soon, on the police scanner, they hear that the cops are setting checkpoints around the area. Trevor gets out of the vehicle after which Michael has to race him back to his office with Lester in his car. Once they reach the office, Lester sets up a planning board on the wall after which the player has to choose the crew for the heist. Only a gunman has to be chosen. Lester and Michael leave and the mission ends there.

After this mission, Michael and Trevor are seen hanging out in Trevor’s trailer along with Patricia Madrazo. While Trevor and Michael are arguing again, Trevor reveals that he asked Franklin for a little help and that he needed to go, too. Michael accompanies him. Franklin is seen chasing the O’Neil brothers along with Chop in a car.
The mission will fail if the player enters Los Santos with Michael and Lester. Trevor, however, can roam Los Santos freely.
When Lester gets off the bus, he is wearing suit trousers. However, at the end of the mission, he is wearing jeans.
The officers who respond to the alarm are LSPD officers instead of Los Santos County Sheriff officers.
If you do not have any weapons to shoot the alarm with, you will be instructed to go to Ammu-Nation to buy a pistol. Afterwards, the mission will proceed as usual. If you do not have the money necessary to buy the pistol, you will be given $500.
A. After completing Minor Turbulence, either Trevor or Michael can visit the B marker on the map to start the Paleto Score Setup mission.
A. Complete the following objectives to receive the gold medal for the mission.
Leisurely Drive - Drive to the bank within 03:30
Winner - Win the race back to the meth lab.
A. While driving on the muddy roads, take the least turns possible. Go through the foliage and take shortcuts in between the zig zag roads to gain an advantage on Trevor while racing him.
