The Pistol .50 in GTA 5 is based on the real-life Desert Eagle. This weapon has the Hawk & Little lettering and logo on both sides of its body. It is designed just like the Desert Eagle except for the side-mounted safety and the barrel lock which have been changed. It has a tritium-illuminated iron sight like the Pistol and Combat Pistol. At the front end of the gun there is an inscription that says “.50 CAL” which signifies the .50 Caliber used by this weapon.

The Pistol .50 is a great pistol and does a great amount of damage. Its only downside is the high recoil which can delay the next shot by a second. However, this weapon can take out armored enemies in 2-3 shots to the body in close to medium range. The range of this weapon as well as its accuracy is not quite good but it works just fine up to a medium range. It has a mag capacity of 9 rounds only which can be increased to 12 rounds with the extended clip. This weapon is not the ideal choice for drive-bys although it is very effective against NPCs making it a great choice in gunfights.

Original Version

This weapon is free for all players who own the Special/Collector’s edition of the game and is available for free at Ammu-Nation after the mission Franklin and Lamar.

Enhanced Version

Can be purchased from Ammu-Nation for $4000 after completing the mission Monkey Business, however it is free for all returning players who owned the Special/Collector’s edition.

• Its sound is similar to the Pistol .44. Additionally, both weapons work in a similar way, having similar magazine capacities. Both have a high recoil, both have the name of their caliber in the name.
• The Pistol .50 is notable for having a very high recoil; when fired, it will blow the player's hands upwards heavily. This is not present in the Enhanced version while in FPS mode, however, as it kicks backward rather than upward when firing in first person.
