The Police Cruiser(Interceptor) or Police Interceptor is a law enforcement vehicle in GTA V. It can be found spawned in various locations in the game. It is based on the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan in real-life.
Name | Police Cruiser |
Vehicle Class | Emergency |
Vehicle Type | Law enforcement vehicle |
Body Style | 4-door sports sedan |
Capacity | 4 |
Manufacturer | Vapid |
Appearance(s) | GTA V GTA Online |
The Police Cruiser (Interceptor) in GTA V sports a classic black and white color scheme, adorned with prominent "POLICE" lettering on its sides and a unit number on the roof. It comes equipped with a roof-mounted LED light bar in red and blue, along with an A-pillar mounted spotlight that functions with the high-beam headlights but can break upon collision. Inside, you'll find practical shotgun/rifle mounts on the console, a radio, and a sturdy steel mesh partition separating the front and back seats.
In the enhanced versions of the game, the interior of this vehicle is shared with several sedans like the Stanier, Police Cruiser, and Fugitive. In the original game version, a computer terminal featuring the Liberty City Police database menu was present, but this feature was removed in the enhanced release. The car's sleek look is complemented by black wheels with chrome center caps, matching those of the FIB Buffalo.
The Police Cruiser (Interceptor) in GTA V boasts a 4-cylinder engine and a 5-speed gearbox, providing excellent acceleration, outperforming most sedans and even surpassing the Stanier-based model. Its acceleration, braking, and handling are commendable, but its durability is lacking.
The engine is less resilient compared to the Stanier-based model, and the vehicle tends to deform easily, particularly around the front wheels. The engine sound mirrors that of the Buffalo and its police variant, adding to its distinct characteristics.
This vehicle cannot be modified.
This vehicle does not make any prominent appearance in the storyline of GTA V.
At all police stations across Los Santos.
Can be obtained by calling 911, then selecting "Police"; one will arrive shortly after calling.
Frequently appears at any wanted level and or chasing criminals.
At least one can be found patrolling around the interiors of Bolingbroke Penitentiary.
Spawns occasionally at the Strawberry train station under the Olympic Freeway on Strawberry Avenue at night with 2–4 officers inside. Then, after passing the roundabout, the sirens will be turned on.
Often seen on the roadsides of Mission Row and Legion Square.
At least one can very often be found at the Mission Row Police Station.
In the original version of the game, the on-board computer inside the Police Cruiser features the LCPD database screen.
Killing the driver of the Police Cruiser will cause a normal car horn to blare, instead of the usual police horn. This appears to be the case with all police vehicles.
In GTA Online, like other emergency vehicles, if a player is driving the Police Cruiser with a distorted siren, other players will hear the non-distorted siren until the player gets within range of another player.
