Sandy Shores in GTA 5

Being a desert area and surrounded by the Grand Senora desert, the small town called Sandy Shores has a dry arid climate. It is most likely based on Desert Shores and Bombay Beach which are located in California. It used to be a beautiful tourist spot which at some point had a population of 3,010, but has now lost its essence. Sandy Shores now has people living in trailers and small houses around well-planned roads. It shares a coast with the Alamo sea to the north.

Sandy Shores has a huge radio tower in the middle of the town. There are also a few businesses located here like 24/7 supermarkets and Ammu-Nation. The town is, however, a poor town with a lot of criminal activity, drug addicts, gang activity, meth labs, etc. There are a few parts of the town near the Alamo sea that have been affected by its flooding and can be seen abandoned. A similar situation can be found in its real-life counterpart Bombay Beach.

The events of multiple missions take place in Sandy Shores, mainly due to Trevor being a resident of Sandy Shores. Trevor’s trailer is where his early missions begin and there is a fight against the Lost MC at the Sandy Shores airfield, which Trevor takes over. Trevor’s Meth lab is also present in Sandy Shores, which is run by Chef, which is attacked by the Varrios Los Aztecas in the mission Trevor Philips Industries.
