Custom radio stations like Self Radio have been available in previous GTA games as well under other names like Independence FM, Tape Deck, MIXTAPE, User track player and MP3 Player.
Self Radio is exclusive to the PC version of GTA V. The player can add custom tracks to a specific folder (usually C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\User Music) and listen to these tracks in any radio enabled vehicle in the game by tuning into Self Radio on the Radio Wheel. Self Radio appears between iFruit Radio and Still Slipping Los Santos, on the wheel.
Players have an option to either play the chosen tracks in a particular order or shuffle them. There is also an option to customize the chosen tracks into a complete GTA radio experience with commercial breaks, talks in between the hosts, bumpers, etc. with the player’s choice of tracks. Players can also let the game analyze the collection of tracks and build a playlist. To skip tracks, the minus and equals-to keys on the keyboard can be used.
The tracklist is decided by the player by adding songs to the specified folder in the GTA V game files.
This radio station does not appear in any storyline missions as it is customized by the player.
