The Special Carbine is heavily based on the Heckler and Koch G36C. It has a Picatinny rail which is just a little different from the G36C. There is a double-sided fire selector with small icons on it, where "X" is the safe position, ">" is semi-automatic and ">>" is fully automatic, even though the weapon can only fire in Fully-Automatic mode. This weapon can be attached with an extended clip carrying 60 rounds which is an upgrade from a default of 30 rounds. It can also be fitted with a suppressor, flashlight and a grip.
The Special Carbine gives high damage just like the Gusenberg Sweeper. It is a mid-range rifle not being the best in its class. The accuracy of this weapon is high which makes up for its medium range. It is not an ideal weapon for long-range gun fights but can perform very well in close-range and medium-range shootouts. The attachments help make this gun usable in various scenarios, especially with the scope and the suppressor helping in stealth attacks. This gun has a unique firing sound that justifies the high damage.

The Special Carbine can be purchased from Ammu-Nation for $14,750 after completing the mission the Jewel Store Job.
In the original version (PS3 and Xbox 360) the Special Carbine is added to the player’s inventory after the DLC is installed.
In the enhanced versions of the game, it erroneously has ejection ports on both sides.
The "LS" logo on the weapon's etched metal finish is backwards.
The weapon is favored during GTA Online Heists, as it is provided for use during The Prison Break, The Humane Labs Raid, and The Pacific Standard Job.

A. The Special Carbine is a really good gun for close-range and medium-range fights and is preferred by many GTA V players. However, at long ranges this weapon isn’t very effective even with a scope, as it does lesser damage.
