Steve Haines in GTA 5

Born in 1975, Steve Haines joined the FIB at the age of 18 in 1993. Over the next few years he quickly became a high-ranked special agent and soon led his own special unit and also became the boss of agents like Andreas Sanchez and Dave Norton. In 2008 he became the host of a criminal TV show called “The Underbelly of Paradise”.

Even despite such a successful career in the FIB, by 2013, Steve Haines had become a corrupt agent working along with Andreas Sanchez. When he got hold of the history between Dave Norton and a certain Michael De Santa who could have been involved in the Jewel Store heist he asks Dave to call Michael in to help him with their dirty work.

The very first mission that is given to Michael, Franklin, and Trevor is to extract Ferdinand Kerimov from the custody of the IAA as he has important information on an Azerbaijani terrorist Tahir Javan. The trio is able to successfully extract Kerimov and hand him over to Steve Haines and Dave Norton.

Trevor is later summoned along with Michael by Steve Haines to interrogate Kerimov and get the location of Tahir Javan so that he can be assassinated. Michael and Dave get on the road to physically go take out the target while Trevor gets the information out of Kerimov.

After successfully taking out Tahir Javan and getting all the credit for himself, Steve Haines calls the team for another mission which now involves stealing government bonds from a securicar that as a result will increase their funding from the government. Michael, Franklin and Trevor successfully carry this mission out and deliver the bonds to Devin Weston.

After this when Michael and Trevor are hiding in Sandy Shores from Martin Madrazo’s men, Steve Haines and Dave Norton visit them at Trevor’s meth lab to inform them that they will need funding for the next mission which involves breaking into the Humane Labs and Research center and retrieving a dangerous toxin.

They decide to rob the Blaine County Savings bank with help from Lester Crest and are successful in doing so. Soon they meet up with Steve Haines and Dave Norton to make their move on the Humane Labs and Research when they realize they are short of people due to some silly miscommunication.

Dave Norton and Steve Haines decide to go in with Michael while Trevor and Franklin help them with their getaway. After successfully getting out of the premises of the labs Steve Haines realizes that it's too late for him to escape and shoots himself in the leg for his own benefit while the rest of the group is flown back to Sandy Shores airfield by Trevor in a helicopter.

Later when the IAA is onto Steve Haines due to his presence at the Humane Labs And Research center, he asks Michael for one last mission in which Michael with the help of Trevor and Franklin has to retrieve the documents that the IAA have against Steve Haines. He agrees to let Michael loose after this final mission.

After this final mission being a success, due to the fear of getting caught red-handed, Steve Haines tries to pin the blame on Michael and Dave Norton at the Kortz center by trying to arrest them, only to be betrayed by Andreas Sanchez. A shootout takes place here as the Merryweather security force also arrives at this meeting.

Steve Haines gets shot in the leg but manages to escape and get away, so do Michael and Dave Norton. Agent Sanchez is killed by Steve Haines during the shootout. Later Steve Haines asks Franklin to kill Trevor as he could still cause him some trouble. It is then up to Franklin whether to kill Michael, Trevor, or all of their enemies by getting together.

Steve Haines is a tall and fit man with brown hair and blue eyes. He wears a blue collared t-shirt and beige cargo pants. He also wears a wrist watch on his left hand and blue running shoes.
