Background

As a member of the Los Santos Triads led by Wei Cheng, he assumes the role of a translator for Wei's son, Tao Cheng, who struggles with English. Due to Tao's inclination for substance use, the translator takes on the responsibility of managing tasks assigned by Wei to Tao, particularly when dealing with individuals who don't speak Chinese.

Events of GTA 5

Under Wei Cheng's orders, Tao Cheng's Translator meets with Trevor Philips to discuss a possible partnership. Amid an attack on Trevor's meth lab by the Aztecas, Trevor hides both the translator and Tao in a freezer for safety.

Later, the translator informs Trevor that Wei chose a different partner over him, eventually revealing the O'Neil brothers as the new collaborators after Trevor's intense interrogation.
