Tornado in GTA 5

The Tornado is a sports classic car in GTA V manufactured by Declasse.

This car comes under the sports classic class of vehicles due to its body design. It has a 50s design and has really good speed and handling for its size and weight. Many gangs in GTA V own custom versions of this car.

Design and Performance

The design of the Tornado is from the 20th Century with the front end being similar to the 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air and the rear end like the 1957 Bel Air. The Tornado has a wide and bulky body. However, the performance of the vehicle is not affected much by its design. The headlights on the front are circular and have a covering that slightly protrudes towards the front. The rear headlights are tiny circles and are located towards the bottom side on the outer edges of the rear bumper. The rear has the Declasse logo while the Tornado lettering is towards the left side of the car above the rear wheel. The Tornado is a very stylish classic vintage sports car with a lot of chrome finishes to add to its beauty. The bumpers, fenders and hood of the tornado can be modified.

There are three variants of the Tornado in GTA V. The first is a clean variant with a solid roof which shares the paintwork with the rest of its body. The second is a convertible and the third is a beater variant which is just like the solid roof variant but with a worn out body and rusty details.

Performance wise this car does not let you down. Even after being heavy, the Declasse Tornado has a top speed of around 98 mph. The handling on this car is satisfactory. It comes with a 4-speed gearbox and an engine modeled after a V8. It is terrible while driving up hills and also isn’t very durable while taking damage. The Tornado is a rear wheel drive.

Location

There are three variants of the Tornado- the Beater, Mariachi and Clean.

  1. Beater
  2. Usually seen in South Los Santos and Blaine County.
  3. Usually found in dock areas of Los Santos.
  4. Commonly driven by Rednecks in and around Sandy Shores.

  1. Mariachi
  2. Can be easily obtained in "The Civil Border Patrol" mission.
  3. In the Ammu-Nation parking lot in Great Chaparral. It spawns often when driving a beater Tornado.
  4. Spawns at 7:00 PM on a cliff near the Altruist Camp, it is surrounded by police and will drive off if not reached in time.

  1. Clean
  2. Is sometimes found driven by NPCs around Rockford Hills near Michael's House.
  3. At the Domestic Japanese European Garage, Central Vinewood on Elgin Avenue in Hawick.
  4. Modified yellow variants are driven by the Vagos in Rancho, and can be found parked in the parking lot at Rancho Projects.
  5. Modified purple variants can sometimes be seen driving on the Grove Street cul-de-sac by a Ballas gang member. They can also sometimes be parked in the same area.
  6. Modified green variants can be found on Forum Drive, parked, or being driven. Franklin can steal them and not get shot at. This is an easy way to get the Tornado for the mission “Delivering the Truth”.
  7. Sometimes can be found parked at Rogers Salvage and Scrap in La Puerta.

Trivia

  1. A glitch in the mobile port of the game has the Tornado's interior sometimes being invisible before entering it. This glitch can be fixed by placing the camera position to the back.
  2. Attempting to add chrome on the roof of the convertible version will color it black.
  3. At the 7:00 PM spawn point near the Altruist Camp in the mountains, two NPCs drive a mariachi variant Tornado off a cliff while surrounded by police. This is an easter egg referencing the end of the 1991 movie Thelma & Louise, where the two main characters drive their 1966 Ford Thunderbird off a cliff.
  4. The Tornado is one of the vehicles that the Epsilon Program request Michael De Santa to acquire for them.
