Indev in Minecraft

When Indev was first released, players were greeted with a newly added title screen and the option to create a new map or load an existing one. When creating a new map, players had to assign four characteristics to their maps: the type, the shape, the size, and the theme. The map would then be created, and the player would spawn in an "Indev House."

The Indev House was a 7x7x4 structure made of mossy cobblestone, which was not available naturally anywhere else on the map. The house was built around the player's spawn point and featured a 1x2 hole for players to exit and two torches on the interior. The chests in the Indev House were initially filled with TNT, a full stack of every type of block, and every type of item. As Indev progressed and moved from testing items and blocks to testing the actual survival aspect of the game, these chests were removed.

As the development of Minecraft continued, the design of the Indev House changed. The floor was made of stone, and the walls and roof were made of oak planks. This change made the Indev House more consistent with the materials that were available in the game.

Today, the Indev House no longer exists in Minecraft. It was removed from the game in a later update, and it is now only available to players who have installed an Indev version of the game.

The Indev House was not the only generated structure available in Indev. Minecraft has many different generated structures, including those found in the overworld, underground, underwater, the Nether, and the End. Some of the structures that can be found in the game include basins, desert temples, huge mushrooms, icebergs, ice spikes, igloos, jungle temples, moss stone boulders, pillager outposts, ravines, ruined portals, swamp huts, trees, villages, woodland mansions, abandoned mineshafts, buried treasures, caves, dungeons, end portals, fossils, strongholds, geodes, the Warden's Cabin, ocean monuments, shipwrecks, underwater ruins, bastion remnants, nether fortresses, end cities, end ships, obsidian pillars, and ruined portals.

The Indev House was a unique feature of Minecraft that was available during the game's early development stages. While it no longer exists in the game, it is still remembered by many players who were around during the Indev phase. Minecraft has come a long way since its early days, and the game's generated structures have grown and evolved along with it. Today, players can explore a vast and diverse world filled with many different types of generated structures, each with its own unique challenges and rewards.
