For the many items that you can create and use within Minecraft, the game is surprisingly bereft of many official furniture items that could be used to spruce up your house or base’s environment. This means that players like yourself are going to have to get creative in terms of what you can do to liven up your living quarters. You may not have access to items such as chairs, tables, televisions, or other unique pieces of furniture, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t figure out a way to bring them into your game.
For the first item we will want to use, stairs will be a go-to for many types of furniture that you would prefer. In this case, stairs can be useful in setting up a seat or a couch that you would like to fit inside of your base.
Keep in mind, however, that if you want your couch to look very authentic, you should put signs on the side of the stair blocks that you use so that it looks like there are armrests for your chair or your couch. You may not be able to sit in this new chair, but it will look nice all the same.
Next on the list are tables. No house can truly be called a house unless there is a table for you to sit or dine at. Making a table is a relatively simple process to accomplish with you only needing a wooden or metal pressure plate with a fence.
Just place your fence on the floor and then present your pressure plate on top of it. If you want to go further with your table you could place your newly created chairs in front of it, so it resembles a dining room of sorts.
Going further on that dining room let's elevate it to another level, by creating a chandelier that lightens up the room. You can do this by setting up fence blocks at the ceiling of your room and then adding branching fence blocks at the bottom of it topped with torches.
If you want to set this over the table you have created, you can complete the ensemble to have a fully furnished dining room. If you want to make your kitchen right next to it, you can place a furnace nearby to have a complete product with all of your finished work.
For one final piece of furniture, you could also make yourself an impromptu cabinet. You can accomplish this by setting up two sets of wooden blocks that are two blocks deep and high. Top it off with some wooden slabs and it should look complete. From there, place the double chest inside and complete it with two wooden doors that resemble cabinets within your bedroom.
It may not completely resemble what you use in your real bedroom, but it’s one of the simplest paths towards making your own in Minecraft.
With no clear and official items that can fill your home for decor, it is up to you the player to use your imagination to fill in furniture yourself with the tools that you have before you. With this guide, you have a jumping-off point of sorts to get you to the next level of house furnishing
