In Minecraft, like regular chests, an ender chest stores items, but has an added perk. It shares the inventory with other ender chests put anywhere in the world, including in other dimensions such as the Nether or the End.
If an ender chest is destroyed, the contents do not drop as they do in standard wooden chests. Instead, you can retrieve them at another ender chest in your world or by simply creating a new ender chest. The main drawback is that it's far more difficult to make an ender chest than a chest, since it requires obsidian blocks and an ender eye, with both of them being harder to find than most items.

How to get Obsidian?
Obsidian can be mined at places where water meets lava, which means that you can also initiate the production of obsidian. With a bucket, scoop up the lava and dump it into a four-block pit. Pour the water such that it flows down into the lava from a certain height. Doing this will result in the lava turning into obsidian, which can then be mined with a diamond pickaxe. Moreover, it can also be acquired on the Nether Portal, or in an unlimited form on the platform in the End region that is created every time you enter The End.
How to get Eye of Ender?
In Minecraft, The Eye of Ender has many applications. One being an ingredient used to craft other objects such as the ender chest seen above. The Eye of Ender can be obtained by crafting. You need to gather a blaze powder and an ender pearl to craft the eye of ender in Minecraft. Ender pearls are dropped by Endermen, tall and slender mobs when they die. Blaze powder is an item made from a blaze rod obtained from blazes. Blazes are golden flying hostile mobs found in nether fortresses that drop blaze rods upon being killed. To make an Ender chest, place eight pieces of Obsidian around the outside perimeter of the crafting GUI, leaving a blank space in the middle square. In the empty box in the center of the grid, place an Eye of Ender to complete the crafting process.
