The ice bomb is an item that is used to freeze water into ice and it is one of the countless items that the game offers to improve gameplay. Since these items are spread over multiple editions of the game, there are a lot of lesser known items.
Each edition of Minecraft has at least one thing that is exclusive to only that edition. Ice bomb is one such item since it is found in the Education Edition of the game. This edition is significantly less popular than the Bedrock and Java editions.
In order for players to create ice bombs, all players will need to do is combine four Sodium Acetate compounds. Sodium Acetate can be made by using a combination of 2 Carbon, 3 Hydrogen, 1 Sodium and 2 Oxygen.
Ice bombs can be thrown by using them, similar to an egg. Ice bombs explode upon hitting most blocks, including non-solid blocks. If you throw them at other entities, the bombs will explode but they wont deal damage. When exploding, any water in a 3×3×3 cube around the point of collision freezes into ice. Like most other items, ice bombs are affected by gravity and they can offer a quick getaway from aquatic mobs by displacing them.
