Sea pickles are small static blocks that emit light underwater, they are found in small groups of up to four. The amount of light they produce increases as more pickles are added to the group for a maximum light level of 15. They usually spawn naturally in warm oceans and were added to Minecraft in v1.13.

Naturally generated sea pickles are found in warm oceans on top of coral blocks in coral reefs, they can be broken instantly with any tool or by hand. The number of pickles dropped depends on how many were in the group when broken. They can also sometimes be found in desert village houses as decoration.
Players can use bone meal on a single sea pickle to make more or by using it on a coral block. Wandering traders have a chance of selling players sea pickles for two emeralds each.

Sea pickles can be placed on top of most solid blocks, as well as non-solid blocks, up to four per block similar to candles. Sea lanterns have the ability to produce light even when they are underwater. A single pickle produces a light level of 6, and a colony produces an additional 3 levels per pickle. Sea pickles can be smelted to make lime-colored dye.
