Hippo Boss is one of the giant animals of Genbu (Turtle Island) and seems to be the boss of the Hippopotamuses group. He is one of the supporting characters in the Naruto anime series and manga that was written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.

Hippo Boss appeared in Naruto Shippuden episode: 254, "The Super Secret S-Rank Mission." When Naruto Uzumaki was given a fake S-rank mission to distract him from the outdoor world situation at that time, he went to King to ask about all the animals in Genbu. King told him about Chuji, Don and Hippo Boss. He told him that they should not face each other or else there would be a disaster on the island.
Hippo Boss started fighting with Don and Chuji over Armadiko because they all wanted to date him, as they did not know that Armadiko is a male. King and Naruto came and saw these three fighting, and King asked why they were fighting. They told him the reason and then Armadiko arrived at the scene.
Hippo Boss and the other two started to propose to him but then King punched them all by saying that Armadiko was with him. In reply, Armadiko said that he had fallen for Naruto, which made everyone mad. Hippo Boss and the others started chasing Naruto.
Later, when Naruto started his survey, he wanted to know the gender of the animals so he could give the appropriate jobs to them, but when he asked Armadiko about his gender, he refused and said it was private. Hipo Boss and the other three also said it was wrong to ask something personal but later, when Armadiko turned upside down because of the earthquake, they got to know that Armadiko was male and they all started crying.
Hippo Boss has pride and confidence in him and that’s why he was able to become the Boss of the Hippopotamuses. He is also not overconfident because when King shouted, he kept quiet because he knows that King is more powerful. He was in love with Armadiko till he found out that he was male.
Hippo Boss looks like a normal hippo except for his giant size. He has a scar around his nose but when King was talking about him, he was seen wearing a white suit and a purple shirt. He wore sunglasses and was walking on his two feet, just like humans.
Hippo Boss is strong and powerful. He has giant teeth that can kill a person and the way he gave a headbutt to Chuji shows how strong he is.
