Not much is known about Hiruko. However, it is stated that Hiruko was once a great shinobi, feared by many. After his demise, Sasori, a rouge shinobi of Sunagakure (Hidden Sand Village) and a member of the infamous mercenary group Akatsuki, created a human puppet out of Hiruko’s corpse which possessed Hiruko’s chakra and abilities when he was alive. Sasori stated that Hiruko was his favorite human puppet in the entirety of his arsenal.
