Life of Iwabee Yuino

Iwabee Yuino, in his childhood, watched Naruto Uzumaki taking the role of the Seventh Hokage and dreamt of being the Hokage in the future. Yagura Karatachi killed his father in the past. From a young age, he hated to study and thought that Shinobi should be skilled in the physical area rather than in technical areas, which needed shinobi to read many books and write exams. Because of that, he failed a few times at the Konoha Ninja Academy.

In the Graduation Exam Arc, Boruto is shown arriving late for his first day at the Konoha Ninja Academy and when Boruto is talking with another student, Iwabee immediately confronts Boruto, accusing him of being a privileged and entitled child who only attends the academy because of his famous father, Naruto Uzumaki. Boruto, who is offended by Iwabee's words, challenges him to a fight.

In the fight, Naruto made Iwabee use his Jo, which he said he would not use in a fight. Iwabee and Boruto eventually become classmates and teammates at the academy, and over time they develop a friendship and mutual respect for each other.

During the first part of the exam, Iwabee and his classmates are divided into teams and sent into the woods to complete a survival exercise. Iwabee is assigned to a team with Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha. Together, they work to find food and water and build a shelter. Iwabee is shown to be a valuable team member, using his earth-style jutsu to create a makeshift stove and cooking utensils.

At the Academy, Iwabee participated in a race to capture the flag on top of the building, where he initially erected a wall to block the girls' path, but then he was subdued by Chocho Akimichi, and the girls ultimately won the competition. On another day, Iwabee, Shikadai Nara, and Boruto encountered a rampaging boy but discovered that Mitsuki had already subdued him.

Mitsuki eventually enrolled in their class, and Iwabee had a sparring match with him, which he lost as he was caught in Mitsuki's chokehold. Boruto intervened to make Mitsuki release him. Later, Iwabee attended the class party thrown by Shino to welcome Mitsuki, and after it ended, he and a few students successfully subdued a possessed repairman.

Iwabee and his classmates are tasked with a written exam in the second part of the exam. Despite his worries, Iwabee can answer some of the questions thanks to the help of his friends. However, he struggles with the others and becomes frustrated. During the final part of the exam, Iwabee and his classmates fought against each other in one-on-one battles.

Iwabee, Metal Lee, and Sayu Joge chose to have their workplace field trip at a fireworks factory. Later, Iwabee and Denki were asked by Boruto to help him uncover the culprit behind some ghost incidents. After successfully luring out the culprit, they were attacked by a possessed Komame, but Boruto and Iwabee managed to defeat it.

Iwabee then chose Sarada Uchiha and Denki to be on his team for a training session to test their team compatibility at the Academy. Despite their efforts, they were defeated by Ko Ase, Hako Kuroi, and JJ in a flag capture race. Later, he welcomed Sumire alongside others in the academy.

Denki was struggling to learn how to climb trees, a crucial skill needed to pass the final exam. He compared himself to Iwabee, who was known for his skills and was worried he would have to repeat the class. Iwabee, on the other hand, was struggling with his academics, and his friends tried to tutor him, but it only made things worse. When Iwabee saw Denki struggling, he decided to help him out.

They both realized they had something to learn from each other, so they started tutoring each other. One day, they came across a burning building with children inside. They used their climbing skills to save the kids, impressing Shino, who decided to pass them despite missing the exam.

The Seventh Hokage organized a class trip for the Academy to Kirigakure in an effort to improve relationships with other villages and show that the era of war was over. While most of the class was excited, Iwabee was distrustful due to Kirigakure's dark history.

During the trip, the class met with the retired Fifth Mizukage Mei Terumi, the current Sixth Mizukage Chojuro, and their tour guide Kagura Karatachi. However, Iwabee remained doubtful and even fought with a group of delinquents who hated Konohagakure. They tried to attack, but Kagura stopped, which led them to attack Kagura, which made Iwabee mad, and he defeated them.

Later, Denki was captured by a group of badly behaving young teens, who admired the old "Bloody Mist Village" era, and Mitsuki joined in the rescue. During the fight, the delinquents mocked Kagura's relationship with the Konoha-nin and revealed his dark past as the grandson of the Fourth Mizukage with a personal bloodshed reputation from his Academy days. Ultimately, the delinquents were defeated and Denki was saved.

Boruto asked Denki to make an excuse for him and Sarada if they were late for roll-call, and Iwabee became suspicious and decided to investigate. He found Tsurushi muttering about Boruto and Sarada and confronted him, leading him to discover that the two were fighting against Shizuma's team with Chojuro's help.

During the fight, Iwabee revealed his hidden sword and landed a devastating blow on Ichirota Oniyuzu, but the revolutionary detonated his sword, causing an explosion. Despite being caught in the blast, Iwabee was treated by Tsurushi and managed to carry a battered Boruto back to their hotel to make curfew.

Graduation Exams Arc

As the graduation exams for the ninja classes were approaching, Iwabee went camping with his friends. During an interview about his future aspirations, Iwabee stated that his immediate goal was to shed his reputation as a repeater in the Academy, and his long-term goal was to become a renowned ninja like the Seventh Hokage.

During the graduation exams, Iwabee and his classmates were given a written test which they passed with ease after taking up Shino's subtle offer to steal the test answers. Later, during the practical and final exam, the entire class was taken to the training field, where they faced their teachers, Shino, Anko Mitarashi, and Konohamaru, for 24 hours.

Although the teachers were there to evaluate the students' performances, the test's true goal was to capture a single bell attached to the hip of the legendary shinobi, Kakashi Hatake. Iwabee was amazed to see the Sixth Hokage as a proctor, but he knew that only the first student who could take the bell would pass the exam.

During the exam, Anko caught Iwabee in a genjutsu, but he managed to break free and help his friends fight her. Unfortunately, Anko defeated them and captured the Ino-Shika-Cho trio.

Iwabee then used his Earth Release to help Mitsuki save Boruto from Kakashi's grasp. After Boruto apologized for being a lazy ninja, Iwabee fiercely rejected his self-deprecating words and praised him for inspiring their growth. Inspired by Iwabee's words, Boruto devised a plan to pass the test with his friends' help.

They managed to eliminate the other teachers and attacked Kakashi, but he easily blocked their assault. However, the attack was a setup to catch Kakashi in a Multiple String Light Formation. Despite time running out and no one getting the bell, Kakashi passed all the students as they demonstrated the test's true goal of loyalty and teamwork. The next day Iwabee, Denki and Metal Lee were placed in the same team under Udon Ise as their leader.

Byakuya Gang Arc

Team 5 and the other genin teams were tasked with helping stop the thefts performed by the Byakuya Gang in Konohagakure. However, they were not allowed to engage the gang without assistance from a chūnin or higher-ranked shinobi. When the gang appeared, Iwabee's eagerness to take action led Metal and Denki to join him in confronting the thieves, resulting in Metal getting injured and needing to be hospitalized. Udon rebuked Iwabee for his reckless behavior and disobedience of orders, and as punishment, he was confined to his home until further notice.

In the Versus Momoshiki Arc, Iwabee and his teammates participated in the Chunin Exams. They managed to pass the first round of the exams by using Earth Release to prevent themselves from falling into a pit of ink.

In the second round, they were defeated by Team Shinki during a capture the flag battle. Iwabee and his teammates cheered for Boruto during the final round, but were disappointed to learn that he had cheated and was disqualified.

During the attack by Momoshiki and Kinshiki Otsutsuki, Iwabee helped in tending to the injured citizens and later assisted in repairing the village after Naruto, alongside other Hokage, came back to the village after defeating Momoishiki.

Iwabee was thrilled to attend a lecture by the renowned taijutsu master and Fourth Shinobi World War hero, Might Guy, on effective close-range combat tactics. Guy arranged a sparring match between Iwabee, Lee, and himself as part of the demonstration. However, due to Lee's nerves in front of the audience, Iwabee had to face Guy alone. Despite Guy's physical limitations from his injured leg, he defeated Iwabee with ease.

In Mitsuki’s disappearance arc, when Mitsuki went away with the Sunagakure ninja to know his purpose in life, Boruto approached Iwabee and his team to inquire about Mitsuki's whereabouts, but they had no information. As Iwabee and his team continued their patrol duties during the lockdown, they encountered a panicked Yurito who claimed someone had attacked a guard in recovery. However, Udon saw through Yurito's lie and discovered that he was under a genjutsu.

When Yurito took Denki hostage, the team freed him with a flash bomb. As they tried to subdue Yurito, an explosive clay emerged from his jacket and detonated, injuring him.

Later, the genin overheard the Hokage discussing the danger Team 7 was in at Iwagakure. Despite Naruto's initial reluctance to put them in danger, Iwabee and his friends insisted on joining the mission to help their friends.

Upon arriving at Iwagakure, they discovered that the battle had already been won and Team 7 was safe. Unfortunately, the victory came at the cost of the Third Tsuchikage's life. While the Konoha-nin wanted to attend his funeral, Naruto sent them back to Konohagakure.

After Shikadai was promoted to chunin, Iwabee joined him, Boruto, and Wasabi on their first mission as a team. The objective was to retrieve a rare and powerful medical flower, the gekkoran, with the aid of a tracking pig named Tonsuke. However, the mission faced complications as Wasabi and Iwabee constantly disputed with each other. The situation worsened when bandits attacked them and stole Tonsuke.

Frustrated with his teammates' behavior, Shikadai handled the rest of the mission alone. But when Iwabee saw that a trap had injured Shikadai, he decided to catch up and help his friend. The team reconciled and worked together to rescue Tonsuke, capture the bandits, and secure the gekkoran, completing their mission successfully.

Iwabee in the Time Slip Arc went on a field test of new surveillance equipment that tracked their location. Iwabee and other genin discovered Urashiki Otsutsuki in the area. They pursued him but were deceived by the alien's genjutsu, which allowed him to sneak into the village undetected. After Urashiki was defeated, Sumire Kakei resigned from her genin team to join the Scientific Ninja Weapons Team. Iwabee and his friends threw a farewell party for their former class representative.

In the Mujina Bandits Arc, Iwabee Yuino is a supporting character who assists Boruto Uzumaki, Mitsuki, and Kokuri in their mission to escort the wealthy businessman Tento. The group is tasked with keeping Tento safe from the Mujina Bandits, who are known for their ruthless tactics and desire for ransom.

Initially, Iwabee hesitates to take on the mission due to Tento's privileged status and his belief that the wealthy are often entitled and self-centered. However, after seeing Tento's kindness and genuine interest in learning about the lives of others, Iwabee begins to warm up to him.

During their journey, the Mujina Bandits ambushed the group, who successfully kidnapped Tento. Iwabee and the others work together to track down the bandits' hideout and rescue Tento. During the rescue, Iwabee uses his strength and taijutsu skills to fight off the bandits and protect his friends. In the end, the group successfully escorts Tento back to his father, and Iwabee gains a newfound respect for the wealthy, recognizing that not all of them are selfish or uncaring.

Chunin Re-Examination Arc

After the attack by Isshiki, Naruto decided to organize another Chunin Exam to promote more chunin. Iwabee could pass the written exam with the help of Denki, who passed him answers using a device that copied his movements. For the second exam in the Forest of Death, Iwabee had to rescue an injured ally within a time limit. Despite some arguments with Wasabi over an ally, they both completed the exam within the given time. Iwabee was among the 10 genin who passed the second exam.

During the final exam, Iwabee watched the first match and was impressed by Hoki's Earth Release: Fighting Blade Rod. He was then selected to fight against Wasabi. At the beginning of the match, Iwabee took the offensive, but he noticed Wasabi was holding back.

After she revealed her doubts and feelings of pressure from her family, Iwabee encouraged her to believe in herself and use her talents to achieve her dreams. To prove his point, he created a giant cat using his Earth Release, but it exhausted him, and he had to be rescued by Wasabi. As he couldn't fight any longer, the match was called in Wasabi's favor. After recovering, Iwabee cheered on Denki in his match against Tsubaki Kurogane and celebrated his victory.

Great Sea Battle of Kirigakure Arc

The team was assigned a mission to deliver automated puppets to aid in gold mining on Doto Island in the Land of Water. After delivering the puppets, they encountered bandits who stole some gold and locked them inside the mine. Team 5 defeated the bandits with the help of the puppets and Denki's ingenuity.

Later, the Funato Clan attacked the island, and Team 5 was forced to retreat and wait for an opportunity to act. Mitsuki and Sarada eventually joined them, and the two teams worked together to rescue the hostages. On their way back to Kirigakure, Team 5 encountered members of the New Seven Ninja Swordsmen, and Iwabee remained distrustful of them.

They later discovered that Kyoho Fuefuki was suspected of murdering Taiki and worked together to expose the real culprit. They were discovered by Kajiki, a master shipbuilder, who drew their ship back to his port for proper repairs.

Later, the Funato Clan attacked the island again, but Team 5 repelled them. They received a coded message from the Funato, revealing their plan to launch a surprise attack on Kirigakure. Team 5 and their allies intercepted the Funato on their way to the village and successfully defeated them.

As Team 5 returned to the meeting with Kagura and the others, Iwabee was assigned as a lookout and warned them about a huge Chakra Cannon from the enemy's fortress ship. Luckily, Kagura's team was able to turn the cannon back on the fortress, saving everyone.

However, upon meeting up with Kagura and the others, Team 5 was surprised to see the New Seven Ninja Swordsmen members. Iwabee remained distrustful of them, but Sarada assured him they were now allies.

The plan worked, and Kobanza was revealed to be the true culprit. He had been hiding inside a refugee's body and killed himself in the engine room, causing damage to the ship's engine. Upon learning about Kyoho's past trauma with Funato, Iwabee apologized to him, and Kyoho, in turn, apologized for not explaining himself sooner. He even offered to show his scars, but Iwabee declined.

Denki saved Iwabee using his bug spray to repel one of the leeches. Iwabee then helped repel the Funato Clan as they tried to destroy the repaired ship, using earthen walls to block their flaming arrows before fighting them.

Iwabee and Boruto joined Kagura, Sarada, and Denki as they tried deciphering a coded message recovered from the Funato. Iwabee suggested it might be origami, which inspired Kagura to fold it in a particular way, revealing its contents. The message revealed that the Funato planned to use the sea battle as a distraction to launch a surprise attack on Kirigakure while most of their forces were away.

Kagura took the team to his childhood village, which was on the route the Funato was taking, hoping to intercept them. Iwabee's task was to help destroy two bridges to funnel the Funato to a ravine, putting them at a disadvantage.

The following day, Iwabee and Denki spied on the Funato as they reached the destroyed bridges. Upon seeing them send scouts, they rushed back to the village to warn everyone.

They evacuated and hid the villagers to track the scouts into thinking nothing was suspicious about the village. When a baby began to cry, Iwabee used his Earth Release to muffle the sound.

At the ravine, Iwabee worked with Mitsuki to prepare traps by cutting boulders with his Earth Release. Team 5 was sent to protect the village, but they rushed back after being alerted by a snake from Mitsuki.

They arrived just in time to block Funamushi's attack with a landslide. Everyone retreated to the village, where non-combatants were evacuated, and water sources were blocked to deter Funamushi's jutsu. During the battle, Iwabee partnered with Kyoho, raising earth walls for him to strike their opponents.

However, when Funamushi drained his own men's blood to use his jutsu, the other Funato trapped Iwabee on its path with water. Kagura was then held hostage by Funamushi, causing everyone to drop their weapons.

Iwabee watched in shock as Funamushi stabbed Kagura in his chest and died. Sarada took charge and decided to stay in the village to defend it while Iwabee and Denki gathered food with some children. They were captured by Funato soldiers but were eventually freed when Funamushi was defeated. Boruto revealed that Funamushi's son had attacked him for revenge, and the group discussed the situation's complexity.

As the war between the Kagura and Hebiichigo clans continued, Metal convinced them to unite for the upcoming war. They went to aid Team 7, who were on Funato's warship and witnessed Boruto's sacrifice to end the war.
