After the death of Hanzō at the hands of Pain, Kandachi and a band of Hidden Rain ninjas escaped the country and sought refuge in a hidden village. This village was enveloped by a powerful magnetic force that disrupted the flow of chakra to the brain, akin to genjutsu.
During their takeover attempt, Sukune intervened, leading to a violent encounter where Sukune was ruthlessly murdered by Kandachi’s summon, the Conch King. In a bid to maintain their secret hideout, Kandachi took innocent women and children hostage, and their lives were threatened should any information about their location be revealed to the outside world.
In Past Arc: The Locus of Konoha, During Jiraiya's training expedition with Naruto Uzumaki in the forest, they stumbled upon Tanishi, Sukune’s son, who informed them about Kandachi's takeover. To gather information, Naruto disguised himself as Tanishi, while Jiraiya pretended to be captured.
They managed to infiltrate Kandachi's presence, surprising him with Jiraiya's unexpected reappearance. However, Naruto's cover was blown when the real Tanishi arrived on the scene. Faced with imminent danger, Kandachi decided to sacrifice the villagers to his summoned creature, the Conch King.
Naruto engaged in a fierce battle against Kandachi and the formidable Conch King. Despite his relentless efforts, Naruto found himself repeatedly overpowered by their techniques, continuously being knocked down. However, fueled by determination, Naruto unleashed his newfound ability, the Big Ball Rasengan, in a final desperate attempt to defeat his adversaries.
In a climactic showdown, Naruto emerged triumphant, overwhelming both Kandachi and the Conch King, ultimately securing victory and saving the villagers from their perilous fate.
Consumed by overconfidence, Kandachi arrogantly underestimated his opponents, including the renowned Sannin, Jiraiya. Blinded by his own prowess, he believed himself to be unmatched and superior. Moreover, Kandachi's cruel nature knew no bounds, exhibiting a callous disregard for others' well-being.
Kandachi was a lean, muscular man with short, spikey grey hair, and small black eyes. He also had a birthmark covering his right eye and half of his forehead. He was dressed in a flak jacket, a cape, grey pants, and blue sandals. He also had white bandages wrapped around his ankles and his hands. He also carried a breathing mask.
As the trusted right-hand man of Hanzo of the Salamander, Kandachi possessed impressive skills as a shinobi. Similar to his superior, Kandachi relied heavily on the Summoning Technique, commanding his personal summon known as the Conch King through intricate hand seals.
This allowed him to direct the Conch King's actions and employ specific techniques as needed. Additionally, Kandachi displayed proficiency in Water Release, utilizing this ability to conceal himself within bodies of water and employ genjutsu through the Conch King.
The magnetic field generated by the surrounding tree enhanced his genjutsu by disrupting the chakra flow of his opponents, creating a potent effect similar to traditional genjutsu techniques.
According to a Hidden Rain shinobi named Ryusui, it is likely that Pain eventually located and eliminated Kandachi, along with his henchmen. This assumption is based on Pain's track record of targeting and eliminating not only Hanzo himself but also his friends, family, and associates.
