Rikumaru is a deer that lives in the Nara Clan Forest, under the care of the renowned Nara clan of Konohagakure. He first appeared in the Akatsuki Suppression Mission. edge of the Nara clan forest.
In the arc, Rikumaru remained by Shikamaru Nara's side as he swore to Hidan, a rouge shinobi of Yugakure (Village Hidden in the Hotsprings) and a member of Akatsuki, that his clan would make sure to keep him buried there forever. He later followed Shikamaru to the border of the Nara Forest, where Shikamaru met Sakura Haruno, Sai, and Pakkun.
Rikumaru hasn’t appeared since. Due to his lack of appearance, it is close to impossible to determine his current status. For the time being, Rikumaru is believed to be alive and well until further information comes to light suggesting otherwise.
Rikumaru is very calm and is not afraid of humans, unlike most animals. He stood there and did not flee from the scene when Shikamaru fought Hidan.
Rikumaru is an adult deer with light brown fur and dark brown eyes, just like any other deer. He also has two large black antlers on his head, much like a typical male deer.
