Sukune was a courageous individual who held onto hope and fought tirelessly to protect his village from Kandachi, a rogue shinobi from Amegakure (Hidden Rain Village). Tragically, he lost his life in his valiant attempt to defend the village. Initially, his son Tanishi harbored resentment towards him, but upon understanding the significance of his father's sacrifice, he developed a deep love for him. Sukune was laid to rest in the village's graveyard, honored for his bravery and dedication.
In Past Arc: The Locus of Konoha, during his initial visit to the Genjutsu Tree Village, Jiraiya fondly recalls the kindness and hospitality shown to him by Sukune and his family. However, upon his return to the village with Naruto, Jiraiya is filled with sadness upon learning about Sukune's untimely demise.
Sukune held great respect within his village, known for his bravery and selfless acts in defense of his community. Tragically, he lost his life while courageously protecting his village. Jiraiya, recognizing Sukune's noble character, specifically acknowledged his kindness and regarded him as a genuinely good-hearted individual.
Sukune had lengthy black hair and deep-colored eyes. His forehead was covered by his bangs, which flowed down. He donned a blue shirt with a distinctive green-colored V-neck collar.
From a civilian's perspective, Sukune displayed a certain level of strength. He demonstrated decent accuracy with the Chilli Pepper Bombs and showed resilience by enduring multiple attacks from the Conch King. However, his abilities did not reach the level of a skilled ninja. It can be inferred that he had proficiency in wielding a kama based on his use of it during his confrontation with Kandachi.
Sukune, written as 宿禰, is one of the eight hereditary titles designated by Emperor Tenmu.
Sukune's attitudes and his manner of death bear similarities to Kaiza from the Land of Waves. Both Sukune and Kaiza showed resistance against invaders in their respective countries. Unfortunately, both of them met their demise as a result of their defiance.
