The Ceramic Village was a small village in the Naruto series. It was mentioned in the novel, Akatsuki Hiden: Evil Flowers in Full Bloom. Founding of the Ceramic Village

Not much is known about the founding of the Ceramic Village. In Akatsuki Hiden: Evil Flowers in Full Bloom, it is stated that in ancient times, Ceramic Village was led by a family known as the Ceramic Gods. They gathered the best inventions made by the village's artists and kept them secure and private. The artistic standards of the village were frequently set by these Ceramics Gods. These Ceramic Gods resided in a huge mansion situated in the center of the Village.

History of the Ceramic Village

Masho, the leader of the Ceramic Village, invented the Hanasaki (Flower Bloom) ceramic style. Under Masho’s leadership, the village became known for its Hanasaki-style ceramic. Hanasaki gained a lot of popularity because of its simple yet elegant style. Unfortunately, the clay used for this eventually started to run out of it. Masho was very particular with his art and wouldn’t compromise on his artistic creations. He would rather stop it completely rather than replace his Hanasaki style with a less elegant version of it, just to prosper. He wanted to leave the village to find more clay, but could not pursue it, fearing he might never find it.

Gosho, Masho’s son, did not care for artistic value as long as it made money for him. Fearing his father may lay ruin to the village, ending their era of prosperity, he killed his father, along with other Hanasaki ceramists, and claimed that they all had abandoned the village. Later, Gosho became the new leader of the Ceramic Village. He hid all the remaining supply of the Hanasaki clay and forced the ceramists of the village to come up with new ideas, and new art forms.

Although the village witnessed prosperity and luxury like never before under Gosho’s leadership, their new ceramics didn’t have any artistic value. It could not hold a candle to the Hanasaki style. But this did not bother Gosho in the least. All he cared about was money and he believed that art that can’t be sold had no worth.

Sasori and Deidara, two notorious Akatsuki members, visited the Ceramic Village in search of the clay used in the Hanasaki style, ten years after Masho's unfortunate demise. The village was devastated as a result of Deidara's C2 during this process. Only Kanyu, the last Hanasaki practitioner and Masho's student, survived this ordeal.

Leaders of the Ceramic Village

Masho

Masho was the first known leader of the Ceramic Village. Under his rule, the Ceramic Village prospered, thanks to Masho’s Hanasaki style. Unfortunately, as the Hanasaki clay started running out, Masho refused to compromise and would rather let the village be ruined than compromise his artistic value. Gasho killed him and other Hanasaki practitioners, fearing his father may ruin the village.

Gasho

After murdering his father, Gasho became the new leader of the Ceramic Village. He kept the last of the Hanasaki clay hidden and had the village ceramists come up with fresh concepts and styles of art. Under his leadership, the village experienced unprecedented prosperity, but the ceramic style they produced had no artistic value.
