Later, Gari was reincarnated by Kabuto during the Fourth Shinobi War and made him lead the Explosion Corps on the battlefield to fight against Allied Shinobi Force Third Division, led by Kakashi Hatake, and the Surprise attack division. However, Sai destroyed Gari's arms with the Explosive tags but before he was fully controlled by Kabuto, Gari told his other squad member about the reincarnated body and technique.
After Kabuto erased his consciousness, Gari attacked with full force. He attacks Tajiki and kills him fast with the Explosion Release: Landmine Fist move. The previous generation of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist is then summoned, using himself and Pakura as mediums to overwhelm the opponents. As the swordsmen start their stealth killing, both retreat to a safe distance to await further orders.
In the anime, Guy assigned Rock Lee the responsibility of following Pakura while he followed Gari. He returned with the other reborn shinobi when the battle reached the forest. They continued their assault. Gari arrived as a backup while the division was getting ready to seal Jinin Akebino, at which point Lee attacked him. After a quick battle, Jinin escapes Ensui Nara's Shadow Sewing Technique when the latter is hurt by the explosion Gari sets off and he withdrew when Jinin was sealed.
Later, while battling various groups of Third Division shinobi, Gari killed a Kumo shinobi by surprise. Despite being certain he could kill Monga, Gari was beaten by Monga using a mix of explosive tags and earth fortifications. However, Pakura attacked and killed Monga before Maki could seal Gari.
Gari, who had since regenerated, interrupted as Pakura was about to be sealed and declared his intention to kill Maki. Shinobi from neighboring villages rushed in to defend Maki but Pakura held Gari back so they could go. He regretted that they were never able to engage in combat and that their characteristics had once more been erased.
The Third Division had already sealed Gari by the time Kakashi Hatake and Guy left for Naruto Uzumaki's location the next day. He, Pakura, and Mangetsu, however, were able to escape before being sealed in the anime after briefly engaging the Third Division.
During this time, he tried to stop Sai from utilizing the Sealing Technique: Tiger Vision Staring Bullet but was repelled by Rock Lee. Later, before Kakashi and Guy left, Sai sealed Gari.
Later, when Itachi Uchiha released the Reincarnation technique of Kabuto, Gari’s soul returned to the afterlife.
Gari was a loyal and knowledgeable shinobi from Iwagakure and took great pride in his abilities and skills as shinobi. After reincarnation, Gari remained calm, explaining the circumstances to other reincarnated squad members like Zabuza, Haku, and Pakura.
He expressed concern that he had a regenerating body when he first saw the youthful members of the Allied Shinobi Forces, believing that he could get away with trading blows rather than going all-out. He's been characterized as challenging, sarcastic, and short-tempered.
Gari also hated his Reincarnation Technique user because he never wanted to follow someone who was not his comrade and had never been dead. Being used as a puppet and a thing made him so angry.
His right arm is completely exposed but for his forehead protector, which is wrapped over the upper part of the arm. He was seen wearing the normal Iwagakure flak jacket and a single-sleeved shirt underneath. Moreover, he wears a lapel that is often worn with a suit.

In the anime, he could deflect kunai by using explosions in his palms, throwing them back with such force and precision that they killed the throwers in a single shot. He even applied the same technique to cut the length of a binding cloth that Maki used to restrain Pakura.
Gari was also one of the best Taijutsu users which was witnessed when he fought against Rock Lee, who is also a Taijutsu user and yet couldn’t keep up with him. Gari was extremely powerful and quick, and could carry a big man with one hand. Yet despite his size, he could even sneak up on two patrolling shinobi without them knowing.
