Genno was the sole survivor of his village's destruction. After many years, he came to the Hidden Leaf Village, Konoha, as a carpenter, working for a woman named Kanna. His plan was to infiltrate Konoha and use his trap-making skills to harm the village. Genno stole blueprints of Konoha's fort structure to enhance his traps.
Meanwhile, Konoha faced the threat of invasion from a neighboring country. At first, Genno wanted to destroy the Hidden Leaf Village. But as he observed Naruto and the young ninjas' determination, he changed his heart. He decided to challenge them with his trap-making skills.
Genno misled everyone by pretending to die skillfully and planting explosive tags throughout the village. This created confusion and excitement among the young ninjas. Sakura, Hinata, and Ino discovered that Genno was still alive. He then moved into the final phase of his mission. Genno had a bird scatter the stolen blueprints all over the village while he planted more explosive tags on Hokage Mountain.
Naruto encountered Genno at Hokage Mountain, where Genno revealed his plan to bury the village by blowing up the plateau. The showdown began. Genno skillfully dodged Kiba and Akamaru's attack and used a trick to escape Shino's insect attack. He even used a summoning jutsu to summon a giant bird to aid his battle.
Rock Lee attempted to subdue Genno, but Genno proved to be a formidable opponent, matching Lee's taijutsu skills. In the final part of his plan, Genno revealed that he had placed explosive tags on the Third Hokage's face as a trigger for the explosion, making it a critical situation.
After a tough battle, Naruto and Choji defeated the giant bird. Genno's body couldn't take any more strain and died from old injuries. Before his death, he admitted that he didn't seek revenge but had enjoyed the challenge.
Shikamaru later explained to the Hokage that Genno initially intended to blow up the village. However, after meeting Naruto, he deactivated all the bombs and turned his plan into a treasure hunt, inspired by his own son and Naruto's determination.
Genno's personality evolved from being a criminal and destructive individual to becoming appreciative of determination and enjoyment of challenges. Initially, he was bent on harming the village, but he changed after thanks to Naruto and the young ninjas. He ultimately valued fun, challenges, and adventure over revenge.
Genno wore a green kimono and a white scarf when he disguised himself as a carpenter. He had brown wavy hair and wore a round spectacles. After a few years, he became older and wore a grey kimono and dark green jumpsuit with the Keffiyeh worn by the country, which has many desert places to protect them from sand and sun.
Genno was an older ninja but still good at fighting without weapons or special techniques. He fought a young ninja named Rock Lee, who was really good at hand-to-hand combat, and he could keep up with him. He didn't win the fight because he was not feeling well, but he still did a good job.
Genno had some clever tricks. He used his trap skills in battles, which made his opponents careful around him. For example, he hid smoke bombs under his clothes. If someone set them off, it would make the enemy unable to see, and he could attack them with his hands.
He also had a big bird that he could call to help him. This bird could make a loud noise to signal others or even set off traps with a special tag on its leg. Genno even used the bird for travel.
Genno was very smart. He could outsmart a whole group of skilled ninjas called Anbu. He was really good at noticing everything around him and making clever plans. He often thought many steps ahead of his opponents.
If things changed suddenly, he could change his plans quickly. His best skill was setting traps, and that's why people called him the "Trap Master."
Genno was excellent at sneaking into places he wasn't supposed to be. He could hide in the shadows or blend into his surroundings, making it hard for others to notice him.
He was also good at pretending to be someone else and hiding his true intentions. People talked about his talent for sneaking around and spying on others, which was like a legend.
