Giant Panda debuted in the Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant arc.

During Pain's intense battle with Jiraiya, the former summoned Giant Panda to protect himself from Jiraiya’s Sage Art: Hair Needle Senbon technique. This Giant Panda was able to endure the full force of Jiraiya's attack, shielding Pain from harm.

However, once the attack was over, Pain made the decision to release the creature, perhaps recognizing that it had served its purpose and that its continued presence was unnecessary.

The Giant panda has a similar appearance to a regular panda bear, except for a few distinctive features. It has multiple large piercings all over its body and dons a black sash around its waist. Additionally, black markings encircle its eyes, adding to its unique appearance.
