Haido purchased the Book of Gelel from an overseas merchant with the intention of locating the Gelel vein and acquiring its powers to dominate the world. His pursuit led him and his knights to the location of the vein. In the process, they attacked Temujin's village without his knowledge, believing that the stone of Gelel was present there. Haido massacred everyone in the village, including Temujin's parents. However, upon discovering Temujin, he recognized the boy's potential and took him under his wing as a subordinate. Haido then trained Temujin to become his ally and help him in his quest for the Vein of Gelel. Though he failed to locate the vein, Haido managed to obtain several fragments of Gelel stone, which he implanted into his four subordinates, Fugai, Kamira, Ranke, and Temujin.
Haido and his minions had taken refuge in a colossal moving castle that was a sight to behold. Inside the castle's walls, Haido began his twisted experiment on the innocent children from Temujin's village. He had kept them alive for the sole purpose of using them to achieve his goals. Haido infused them with a mysterious Gelel energy source, transforming them into armored soldiers. However, these soldiers were nothing more than lifeless minions, devoid of any free will, serving Haido's every whim, which was precisely what he had intended.
Undeterred, Haido continued his relentless search for the Vein of Gelel. After countless searches, he discovered that the stone was hidden somewhere in the Land of Wind. With his army of mindless, armored soldiers at his command, Haido launched an all-out assault on the shores of the Land of Wind. The country's guardians fiercely fought back, but the armored soldiers proved to be a formidable force. However, just when it seemed as though all was lost, Gaara and his allies intervened, turning the tide of the battle in their favor.
Despite their initial defeat, Haido's minions regrouped and retreated to their battleships just off the shore. From there, they unleashed a barrage of cannon fire upon Gaara's group, demonstrating the terrifying power at their disposal.
Meanwhile, Haido remained in his moving castle, focusing his efforts on finding the Vein of Gelel. It was then that he unexpectedly met Naruto Uzumaki, who had been brought to the castle by Temujin. Although Temujin initially tried to pit Naruto against Haido, the warlord intervened, declaring that violence was not the answer. Haido then shared his vision of a utopian society free from war and told Naruto about the history of the land he and Temujin hailed from. Finally, he extended an invitation to Naruto to join them in their quest for the Vein of Gelel, claiming that its discovery would end all conflict. Despite the tempting offer, Naruto kindly declined, unwilling to compromise his own beliefs.
Determined to locate the elusive Vein of Gelel, Haido dispatched Temujin to capture Kahiko, a person who held valuable knowledge about its whereabouts. After a successful capture, Temujin used the Gelel energy to guide Haido's massive moving castle to the ruins that would lead them to the Vein. As the castle drilled deeper into the earth, Haido was stopped in his tracks by the quick thinking of Shikamaru Nara. The young ninja employed his Shadow Imitation Technique to immobilize the warlord, giving Naruto Uzumaki a chance to intervene.
In a surprising turn of events, Haido asked Naruto if Shikamaru was one of his friends. It was at this point that Haido finally opened up about his true intentions to Naruto and the depths to which he was willing to go to achieve them. While this conversation was taking place, Kahiko activated a platform beneath himself and Temujin, sending them both hurtling down into an underground chamber. After freeing himself from Shikamaru's grasp with a well-placed flash bomb, Haido made his way to the platform. With ease, he pushed Naruto aside, sending the young ninja crashing into a nearby wall. Haido ordered his minions to stay behind while he entered the inner chamber.
Then, Haido, wielding the powerful Gelel stone, breaches the sacrificial chamber with a fierce blast where Kahiko and Temujin are. Haido, now inside the ruins, sets his sights on finding the key to the Vein. Suddenly, Haido is attacked by a ferret named Nerugui, who tries to stop him. But Haido proves too strong and blasts the ferret back, revealing a shard of Gelel lodged in its mouth. Haido then commands Temujin to kill Kahiko, but the young warrior refuses, stating that he's gone too far. Just as Haido prepares to take matters into his own hands, Naruto storms into the room, rescuing Kahiko from certain death.
Haido now orders Temujin to kill them both, but the brave warrior refuses once more. It's at this moment that Haido finally reveals his true identity to everyone and tells Temujin that he is the one who killed his parents. He mocks Temujin as being a fool for not seeing through his treachery. Haido then undergoes a monstrous transformation, utilizing the power of the Gelel stone, and uses his Gelel Laser to blast a hole through Temujin and steal his stone.
The wounded Temujin is thrown aside, but before Haido can land the final blow, Naruto steps up to confront him. The two engage in a fierce battle, with Naruto finding himself overpowered by Haido's newfound abilities. In a desperate bid for help, Naruto urges Temujin to join the fight.
Naruto manages to blast Haido into the ceiling with his Rasengan, causing it to collapse and reveal the Vein of Gelel. Haido quickly uses the Gelel stone in his possession to heal himself from the power of the Vein. Just as he prepares to deliver a final blow to Naruto and Temujin, the armored soldiers suddenly intervene, saving the two.
Haido notes that the soldiers must have regained their own wills, but dismisses it as irrelevant. As he begins to recharge his stone for a final attack, Temujin rises to help Naruto create the Gelel Rasengan. Naruto's shadow clone also joins in, creating the Demon Fox Rasengan in Naruto's other hand. Naruto uses the Demon Fox Rasengan to destroy Haido's Gelel stone before hitting Haido's chest with the Gelel Rasengan. Although the attack is not effective at first, it eventually pierces Haido through the chest, sending him flying back and smashing into the Key to the Vein.
Haido, hoping to heal himself, raises his arm but fails, having had his stone destroyed by the Demon Fox Rasengan. He suffers tremendous pain from Naruto's Gelel Rasengan, ultimately leading to his death. Haido's body collapses to the floor and is later swept into a space-time rift created by Temujin and is destroyed.
Haido, a ruthless and cunning warlord, was obsessed with gaining access to the Vein of Gelel, a source of immense power that could make him invincible and enable him to conquer the world. He was a master of deception, able to manipulate and control others to further his own evil agenda. Haido was a cold-blooded killer who didn't hesitate to eliminate anyone who posed a threat to his goals, even if they were his own comrades.
Despite his villainous nature, Haido was a skilled actor who was able to convincingly play the role of a benevolent leader who sought to create a utopia where violence and oppression no longer existed. He was very calculated in his approach, making it seem like his ultimate aim was for the greater good, while in reality, it was all a ploy to gain access to the Vein of Gelel and conquer the world.
Haido was a master of manipulation, able to fool Temujin, his own apprentice, into believing that he was innocent of murdering his parents. Haido was also known for his arrogance and overconfidence, believing that his abilities were superior to those of his enemies, which proved to be his downfall.
Despite his evil nature, there were glimpses of a softer side to Haido. He seemed to genuinely believe in his dream of a world where the weak were not oppressed and no wars were fought. He was even willing to make sacrifices to achieve this dream, although ultimately, his true intentions were revealed, and he met his end at the hands of Naruto and Temujin.
Haido's appearance was striking and distinctive, with a pale complexion and bushy, light brown eyebrows and sideburns that almost reached his mouth. He had a broad nose and piercing, light green eyes that seemed to glitter with a malevolent intelligence. He was dressed in a dark blue bishop's robe with light black linen fastened by a snap strap light blue transparent glass button. Underneath this, he wore a long-sleeved white shirt. His head was adorned with a dark blue bishop's hat that had blank white linen, and he wore light black pants and shoes. On his right hand, he wore a blank white gentleman's glove, while on the left hand, he wore a dark black sleeveless glove that held the Stone of Gelel, a powerful artifact that granted him immense power.
In his monstrous Gelel transformation, Haido became a terrifying humanoid-like creature with light gray skin, thin white eyebrows, and long, unkempt, spiky white hair with two long, even strands framing his face. His eyes had dark black slanted pupils, and his eye sclerae were a deep shade of red, glowing with an otherworldly intensity. He had a medium-built physique with a defined six-pack, and behind his back floated four glowing, light-red orbs that seemed to pulse with eerie energy.
Haido's possession of the Gelel stone, embedded within him, bestowed him with extraordinary powers, making him an incredibly formidable opponent. When he transformed into his grayish humanoid form, his already formidable abilities were vastly enhanced. His strength surpassed all expectations, allowing him to pierce through Temujin's armor with ease and crush the stone of Gelel effortlessly. In one swift punch, he sent Naruto flying into a wall, defeating him in hand-to-hand combat. With lightning-fast movements, he was able to traverse from one spot to another, similar to the famed Body Flicker Technique.
Over Haido's back hovered four dark red orbs, each emitting four black strips made of an unusual material. These strips were versatile, as they could transform into tentacles that permitted Haido to levitate or fly. Alternatively, they could be altered into a liquid-like substance and molded into any shape Haido desired. In defense, they could even convert into stone pillars, offering Haido protection from enemy attacks. However, his most powerful abilities stemmed from the Gelel stone. With its aid, Haido could disintegrate objects without ever laying a finger on them. He could also activate a Gelel energy laser that penetrated through anything, increasing in strength until it became an incredibly powerful energy blast. The Gelel Vein further enhanced his already remarkable healing powers, allowing him to recover from even the most severe injuries, including twisted limbs and necks. However, his access to this energy was only possible as long as the Gelel stone in his hand remained intact. When shattered, he lost his connection to the Gelel Vein and eventually lost his life after receiving a fatal blow to the heart.
Haido's abilities in his "normal" form were no less impressive. He could free himself from the Shadow Imitation Technique with just a single gaze, demonstrating his exceptional perception and strength.
Haido possesses the ability to release powerful Gelel blasts without the necessity of physical interaction with objects, thanks to a fragment of the Stone of Gelel that is embedded in the back of his right hand. His proficiency with this power is due to his study of the Book of Gelel. He displayed his skills by creating a small shockwave at a distance that impacted a pillar.
Upon transforming into a monstrous humanoid by harnessing the power of the Gelel Stone, Haido gains the ability to emit a colossal bluish-green laser, known as Gelel Laser, from the Gelel Stone-embedded back of his right hand. This powerful blast possesses the capacity to eliminate most individuals with a single shot. Furthermore, he can enhance the laser's intensity to unleash a significantly more substantial beam.
Haido, like his three minions, appeared to be based on a well-known monster, in this case, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, with his first appearance resembling a gentleman priest in both appearance and manner of speech, and then transforming into a demonic humanoid with a power-hungry and bloodthirsty personality with the use of the Vein of Gelel. This is analogous to the gentleman doctor Henry Jekyll drinking a potion to transform into the vicious and disfigured Edward Hyde.
Despite being a non-canonical character, Haido's ambitions and values were eventually the same as those shared by canonical characters such as Nagato, and later, Naruto during the Shinobi World War.
While his abilities were non-canon, the capacity to use malleable substances produced from floating orbs was subsequently featured in the series proper as the Truth-Seeking Ball.
