Haku’s father was just an ordinary farmer, who eventually married a seemingly normal woman, and the couple had a son named Haku. For many years, the family lived happily and peacefully. This changed when Haku found and showed his mother his hereditary Ice Release kekkei genkai.
From the shadows, the father noticed that his wife belonged to the Yuki clan, a clan that carried the kekkei genkai, which the villagers of the Land of Water feared and despised, since shinobi wielding it had caused immense tragedy during their civil war. He gathered a mob and murdered his wife in the cottage they had built together while tears rolled down his eyes. He then tried to kill Haku. However, in self-defense, Haku used his Ice Nature to slay his father and the mob.
Initially, he was a cheerful man who took joy in his simple life with his family. However, when he realized that his wife and child had the kekkei genkai, he decided to kill them, which demonstrated that while conflicted in his decision, his fear of kekkei genkai users was far stronger than his love for his family.
