Hosei’s Background

Not a lot is known about Hosei’s early years. In the anime, Hosei was introduced as a genin of Konoha. Hosei made his debut in the genin Exams arc. Hosei participated in the first phase of the genin Exams alongside Naruto Uzumaki and the others.

Near the end of the written test, Ibiki Morino announced that whoever failed to answer the tenth question would be disqualified and never allowed to participate in exams ever again. Afraid of the possibility that he may never become a chunin, Hosei chose to drop out on the exam, which resulted in the disqualification of the rest of his team.
