Inoichi Yamanaka in Naruto

Inoichi made his first appearance in the anime during the Chunin Exam festivities alongside his former teammates. Later he protected his village against Orochimaru and other shinobi. They invaded Konoha to destroy and rule over it but failed to do that in the end, and the Third Hokage sacrificed himself to take Orochimaru's soul.

When Ino was about to enter the Chunin exam again, Inoichi taught her Yamanaka secret Techniques which she used in the exam. Ibiki Morino later asked Inoichi for help to know anything about Pain from Yudachi. Inoichi used his technique to go into Yudachi's head, going quickly through his memories until he found the memory Pain asked him to show: dead bodies.

Before he had time to consider this further, Ino showed up to tell him of Pain's attack on Konoha, and the village was obliterated shortly after. Using the knowledge, Shizune had acquired before her death, Inoichi realized that Pain was animating dead bodies in a way similar to his own clan's mental manipulation techniques, indicating that the true Pain was in a remote area somewhere slightly closer by.

They encountered Naruto Uzumaki while searching for Pain's real body with Shikaku and a member of the Hyuga clan. Inoichi questioned whether Naruto had defeated Pain. In response, Naruto said it didn't matter and added that he had found Pain's actual body while in Sage Mode.

He requested that they not follow him since he wanted to speak with Pain alone. Inoichi objected angrily that talking wouldn't help. However, after a short interaction, Shikaku suggested that Inoichi just let Naruto go, which Inoichi unwillingly accepted. Later, Inochi and other villagers celebrated Naruto Uzumaki's victory.

During the Fourth Shinobi War, Inoichi was a part in Intelligence Division, where first, he and Ao created a sensing water sphere barrier that helped them monitor the battlefield from the Allied Shinobi Force Headquarters. During the War, he gave much important information to all divisions, which helped the Allied Shinobi Force to gain the upper hand. He even instructed Naruto and Killer B about the war situation, which helped them in the war.

When Shikaku Nara concocted a dangerous plan, he asked Inoichi if he wanted to communicate with everyone on the battlefield at the same time. Whereas In reply, Inochi’s subordinates said this would risk Inoichi’s life, Inoichi said he could give only 10 seconds to Shikaku to explain his plan to everyone. Still, Shikaku took around twenty seconds to convey his plan.

Later, Inoichi quickly carried out Shikaku's request to check the situation when the Sensing Water Sphere in HQ started to become distorted. Shikaku developed a plan. Inoichi made it possible for Shikaku to tell the entire Alliance about it. Later, when they were attacking Madara, Obito, and the Ten-Tails, Inoichi coordinated multiple attacks.

Later, when Ten-Tails shoots a tailed beast bomb toward HQ, Shikaku again explains his plan to everyone on the battlefield with Inoichi's Telepathy help. Then Inoichi says goodbye to Ino, and he is so proud of her and will always watch over her.

Inoichi was a calm and composed Shinobi who loved his village, family, and friends, specially Ino, his daughter. Inoichi was one of the most loyal and brave men who, till his death, served his duty for his village and for the shinobi world. He also sometimes gets angry and was a bit short-tempered.

Inoichi had light green eyes and blonde long hair. He was tall and, in Naruto, wore the flak jacket over a black suit that included hand guards, forehead protection, and a red haori with no sleeves.

Inoichi wore the uniform of the Konoha Interrogation Unit in Naruto Shippuden, which included a long black overcoat. He wore the typical Konohagakure shinobi outfit during the Fourth Shinobi World War.

Inoichi was a well-skilled and intelligent shinobi, and that’s why he was the head of the Yamanaka clan and Konoha Analysis Team.

Inoichi knew the secret Yamanaka Mind-body transfer distribution technique and had a very high telepathy communication technique, which he showed in the Fourth Shinobi war, where he connected Shikaku to everyone on the battlefield. He also has the sensory technique which he used many times and created barriers in the Fourth shinobi war.
