Janmaru Tataru in Naruto

The details of Janmaru Tataru's past are somewhat mysterious, but very little is known about his upbringing. In the anime, he only made a few brief appearances.

Janmaru Tataru made his anime debut in the Sasuke Retsuden Arc of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations in episode 283, "Sasuke Retsuden: Star Lines."

Tataru, a renowned scholar of his time, established the Astronomy Research Institute in a secluded spot high up in the mountains, just beyond the northern border of the Land of Redaku. It was a place where he could study the stars and the cosmos in peace. One day, as he was absorbed in his research, he heard a knock on his door. To his surprise, he found the legendary Sage of Six Paths standing before him, seeking a way to heal his chakra pathway system that had been damaged during his time as a jinchūriki.

Moved by Sage's plight, Tataru took him in and offered his help, despite having no medical training. For days, Tataru worked tirelessly, poring over ancient texts and experimenting with various remedies, hoping to find a way to cure Sage's affliction. Finally, on a fateful night, as Tataru and the Sage sat under the starry sky, a shooting star streaked across the heavens above them. The Sage, quick as lightning, caught the star and cut it in two with a powerful burst of chakra.

As Tataru looked on in amazement, one-half of the shooting star dissolved into fine, sparkling dust, which enveloped Sage's body and healed his wounds. Overjoyed by this miraculous turn of events, Tataru dubbed the dust "polar particles" and made it his life's work to study their properties and potential applications.

Tataru appears to be a highly knowledgeable and curious scholar who is deeply passionate about astronomy. He is dedicated to his work and has established his research institute in a remote location where he can study the stars and cosmos undisturbed.

Despite having no medical training, Tataru is empathetic and compassionate, as evidenced by his willingness to help the Sage of Six Paths when he seeks a cure for his chakra pathway system.

Tataru is also amazed and grateful when witnessing Sage's remarkable ability to heal himself, and this inspires him to dedicate his life to studying the polar particles.

Tataru has yet to make a visual appearance.
