Life of Jugo

Jugo used to live in a village but because of his unconscious rage, he once destroyed the whole village and killed all the villagers. Later, he met Kimimaro in the cave and learned about him, which inspired him to go to Orochimaru alongside Kimimaro to cure his rage.

Orochimaru was impressed by Jugo's ability to absorb natural energy which allowed him to undergo a number of radical physical changes at the loss of his mental condition. His desire to learn where his clan acquired this power led him to the Ryuchi Cave, where he learned to perform Senjutsu. Instead of entering Sage Mode, due to his inability to do so, Orochimaru created the cursed seals by combining Senjutsu chakra with the mutant enzymes he extracted from Jugo's blood.

Jugo joined Taka

Jugo was able to control his rage at his own will after Orochimaru placed the cursed seal on his body. Later, Sasuke killed Orochimaru Suigetsu Hozuki, Karin and Jugo joined Sasuke and formed team Taka to search and kill Itachi Uchiha. But at first, Jugo refused to join Sasuke's team but after realizing Sasuke’s strength, he accepted to join the team.

Jugo would later come across other hidden Akatsuki bases, where Sasuke encountered an Itachi clone who challenged Sasuke to meet him at the Uchiha Hideout. Sasuke faced Itachi while Jugo stayed behind with the others.

Jugo fought Killer B

After Itachi's death, Tobi told Sasuke about his brother's real origins and that lead to Jugo and the other Taka members being reorganized into a new group called Taka. Taka was assigned to catch the Eight-Tails so that it might be freed from its host, Killer B after the Akatsuki joined forces with them. They then encountered Killer B, after breaking into Kumogakure, but he had already, effortlessly, defeated Suigetsu. Killer B then used the blade he stole from Suigetsu to overwhelm Jugo when he tried to defeat him.

Over the course of the battle, Sasuke suffered a serious injury and Jugo tells Karin that she lacks the chakra to heal him. Jugo then begins to inject some of his flesh with Sasuke's to treat his wounds as he believed that it will work because Sasuke is compatible with the cursed seal and hence Jugo's DNA.

However, this made him appear younger in some way. Jugo initially opposed saving Karin since he believed she would die from Sasuke's Amaterasu. Still, as soon as their team began working together, Jugo focused on getting his team members out of harm's way.

He and the other Taka members then recovered as Sasuke eventually managed to catch Killer B, although in a false identity. In the aftermath, Karin revealed that she believed a spy had followed them, as Taka rested in one of Akatsuki's hiding places.

Jugo at Five Kage Summit

When Jugo and the other Taka members reached the Land of Iron, Suigetsu reported that numerous guards were present. Sasuke then instructed Jugo to use animals in order to discover the least guarded route into the Five Kage Summit.

Sasuke engages the samurai that pursue them after their location is quickly revealed but when Karin starts worrying over Sasuke, Jugo instructs her to keep seeking Danzo while he goes to help him. He identifies two jonin and the Fourth Raikage as Kumo-nin attacking Taka. Jugo decides to kill them because he understands that their presence will make it challenging for Karin to find Danzo without coming clean.

He fully assumes the form of his level 2 Cursed Seal state and enters his deadly mindset. He is overpowered by the Raikage, who pushes him up against a wall while striking through his arm's protective shield and into his chest.

Jugo smirks and points Multiple Lotus Nonself Connected Cannons from his back straight towards the Raikage, blasting them at point blank range. This had many believing, including Jugo, that the Raikage was dead. It allows Jugo the chance to assault someone else, because he thinks the Raikage is dead, but out of nowhere, the Raikage suddenly strikes him with an elbow. That slams Jugo into the wall and he appears to be knocked out.

Sasuke then destroys the room as the fight progresses, and Jugo, who has regained consciousness, is buried in the dust. He heals the wounds and transforms the adjacent samurai into an adult by absorbing his body. Later, Suigetsu, who advises them to follow the Raikage and Sasuke, is seen with him.

Jugo warns him against doing so, saying that they will be slain but Suigetsu claims he does, however, have a strategy in mind. They attempt to depart the region by disguising themselves as samurai but the samurai quickly catch them and capture them.

Suigetsu and Jugo break out of their prison in the Land of Iron during the battle, claiming that security had loosened up after taking care of the guards. Though Jugo believes they should search for Sasuke, he chooses to assist Suigetsu in locating his sword instead. They also decide that Karin should be sought out. Jugo queries Suigetsu why he is taking this search so seriously when they cannot locate his weapon.

Suigetsu provides some background information about the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, including information on its swords and previous users. Jugo finds out that Suigetsu's goal is to command the Swordsmen and reform them. Suigetsu claims that he is also kinder than Karin.

Jugo Assisted Sasuke in the Fourth World War

Suigetsu and Jugo managed to escape the samurai camp, and they talk about their plans while they travel through a forest. Suigetsu informs Jugo that even if they were to rejoin Sasuke and Karin, it wouldn't be a great reunion because Karin wanted to have Sasuke to herself so she could seduce him.

Jugo is concerned about how Karin and Sasuke are doing. As they proceed, Jugo wonders if they will keep searching for swords or try to locate Sasuke and Karin. Suigetsu responds that they will keep getting in Karin's way because that was his second favorite activity after collecting swords. They move in the direction of one of Orochimaru's hiding places.

Jugo questions Suigetsu's reasons for sticking with Taka after learning information about the ongoing war from the birds. Suigetsu's upper half of his liquid body crashes into a wall as a result of Jugo's brutal attack on him during their conversation. Jugo also loses control of himself but this reveals Orochimaru's hidden room and the knowledge contained inside, which Suigetsu thinks will be useful to them.

Later, Jugo and Suigetsu shatter the ceiling and enter while Sasuke is being tortured by thoughts of what he is. While Jugo examines Anko and finds her alive, Suigetsu examines Kabuto's corpse. When Sasuke asks them why they are there, Suigetsu hands him the scroll which he uses to claim that their group, Taka, can rule the world and to inform him of Madara's presence even though Itachi forced Kabuto to publish Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation.

Jugo then gave Sasuke some of Kabuto's mutated serpent flesh, which Sasuke used to revive Orochimaru. Suigetsu was strongly opposed to this but Jugo just said that he would follow Sasuke's will which he also thought applied to Kimimaro.

After Orochimaru was brought back to life, the group moved towards Konohagakure with the Sannin. They could feel Naruto Uzumaki's chakra miles away but continued nevertheless in Sasuke's direction. On Orochimaru's signal, Jugo used the natural energy from his Sage Transformation to activate the spores that were linked to Sasuke and shrank in the process. He then moved stealthily towards a collapsed temple before returning through Konoha. As Jugo moved to control one of the extra clones, the clone was absorbed and that returned him to his original size.

He did this as the four former Hokage, who had been reincarnated before, watched. Jugo, who has been watching the events in silence, is horrified to see Tobirama act violently after learning of Sasuke's plans to avenge Konoha. Jugo went almost automatically to protect Sasuke until Hashirama calmed the situation. He goes with Sasuke to the area of the battlefield where Sasuke's former team members are, which is when Sasuke decides to help the Allied Shinobi Forces after hearing Hashirama's story.

Jugo helps Sasuke to defeat Ten-Tails Jinchuriki

Jugo returned to Sasuke, noting that they needed to escape, and requested that Sasuke use his Summoning Technique to do so since the Alliance appeared to be stuck in a barrier with a Tailed Beast Ball-firing tree.

However, Naruto stops them and commands them to stand before him so he may provide them access to his chakra. Jugo subsequently discovered that he was secure outside the barrier. While listening to the explanation of how Naruto and Minato's actions had saved them, he questioned what Naruto had done.

Jugo then observed the Ten-Tails' tree form attack that killed nearby shinobi and he sent some of his natural energy to Sasuke. He then used it to channel it into his entire Susanoo in a manner akin to the Cursed Seal of Heaven as he launched his next attack against Obito while knowing that the jinchuriki was susceptible to senjutsu.

The Alliance's united efforts ultimately defeated Obito. But shortly after, they come under attack from Madara and Tobi, who had returned and attacked them with a huge wooden statue. Jugo joined the fight and was able to capture Karin after she was attacked and remove the stakes from her body when she recovered.

He was initially amazed when a devastated Karin led the charge against the new threat. Jugo thought about the circumstance and the possibility that Orochimaru may attempt to seize Sasuke's body, presumably unaware that Orochimaru can only use the Living Corpse Reincarnation once every three years. Karin noticed a new evil chakra nearby as the two sped towards Sasuke.

When they got there, they found that Kabuto, who had escaped Itachi's Izanami, had left a fresh chakra signature. Kabuto made it clear that he no longer wanted Sasuke and was working to heal him. Later, when Madara cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi, Jugo and the rest were caught in it.

Jugo, Suigetsu, and Karin returned to Orochimaru as his subordinates after the Fourth Shinobi World War was over, with Karin being moved to a separate location. Jugo is surprised and happy to see Sasuke after the war finally ends. He arrives at Orochimaru's hideout to learn more about the Dark Thunder Group but only stays a short while to welcome Jugo.

Jugo and Suigetsu are concerned as to why Sasuke is unwilling to settle down permanently in Konoha as they speak with Karin. Karin responds that Sasuke has enemies, since he has the Sharingan and Rinnegan, and stays away from the village in order to defend it.

Jugo in Boruto

When Sasuke, Naruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, and Chocho Akimichi arrived to learn more about Shin Uchiha fifteen years after the Fourth Shinobi World War ended, Jugo and Suigetsu welcomed them. The group then went into the depths of the hideout with Orochimaru to talk about the predicament. Later, Jugo joined Sasuke in his search for Shin alongside Orochimaru. Then Sasuke turned on his Rinnegan and got into his Susanoo.

Jugo Arc

Later in the anime, Jugo goes to a village outside the Land of Fire but he went berserk when his Sage Transformation suddenly activated once more. Later on, Boruto Uzumaki discovered him when he was trying to kill the genin after Nue pushed him off the cliff and into a river. Later, the villagers discovered him and brought him to their community.

Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki approached him. When he came to and was back to normal, he didn't answer when they asked him what he was doing there. When one of the villagers mysteriously acquired a Cursed Seal and started attacking the villagers, the interrogation was terminated.

Jugo, who was drawing him in, instantly restrained him. He urged the genin to avoid the woodland and retreated to an underground spot as his Sage Transformation began to take effect. Boruto and Sarada quickly came up to him, at which point Jugo fully transformed and went insane.

Konohamaru Sarutobi fought Jugo but he managed to harm him and drain a lot of chakra from him. With a Rasengan, Konohamaru was able to shake him out of his want for blood. The squad followed Jugo as he departed and discovered him unconscious with an injection device close by.

Examining him, Tosaka took his blood and when Jugo awoke, he caused the cursed seal in one of the birds to vanish and expressed his displeasure with Boruto for his earlier bird-killing incident. Later, Team 7 saw him cure additional birds before leaving for his cave as the pressure led to another episode.

When a team of Land of Rivers researchers asked about the details regarding the birds, Boruto kept Jugo's involvement a secret. Later, after earning Jugo's trust, he gave him a dose of a tranquilizer when he started having another episode. Later, while being watched by one of the Lands of Rivers researchers, he spoke with the group and Tosaka about the lack of advancement in their investigation.

Jugo continued to treat and tag birds over the following few days. Sarada reminded Jugo to take his medication, which she had encouraged him to take for days rather than only when he sensed a change in himself. It helped, he said, but it also made it harder to cure the birds since it numbed his senses.

Jugo determined the farmed goose wasn't infected when Boruto discovered it in the wild. He expressed concern about the wild geese migrating and spreading the virus and linked the goose's inability to fly with his limited freedom due to his cursed seal.

Jugo returned to his cave as a precaution at the end of the day since his body had started to develop an immunity to the drug. The group learned Jugo's last shots had disappeared on the third day when he struggled to contain a change. Jugo attacked the village in a rage, but the Land of Rivers researchers tranquilized and chained him up.

Jugo found himself bound within a research base when he awoke, and Tosaka explained the circumstances there. Later, Suigetsu and Boruto came up to Jugo. Tosaka used a tranquilizer to immobilize them before they could free him, indicating that he was working with the researchers and their cursed seal project.

Tosaka continued by saying he initiated the cursed seal outbreak to draw Jugo outside so he could be used as a test subject for his cursed seal weapon. To examine the efficacy of his weapon against the power of the original cursed seal, he gave Jugo a drug injection to cause his transformation.

He also killed some soldiers who tried to assassinate Jugo without triggering his transformation. Jugo begged Boruto to leave as the metamorphosis continued, and he managed to free himself. At the water, Jugo struggled to control his change. Before turning to Jugo, Tosaka arrived and fully transformed, using his cursed seal to restrain and restrain Boruto.

Jugo swiftly overcame Tosaka after completing his transformation, then absorbed his cursed seal. He continued to attack until Nue stepped in to stop him from turning his focus on Boruto. Boruto was able to come up with a strategy to reverse Jugo's transformation by dealing serious damage while Nue kept Jugo distracted. Boruto utilized Jugo's faster speed to boost the damage of his Rasengan, reversing the transformation in time.

Having acquired a serum to treat the birds, Mitsuki arrived with Konohamaru and Suigetsu. Suigetsu ingested the medicine, which he then combined with the lake to rain over the group. Jugo left with Karin and Suigetsu, who, for their trouble, also took a helpless Tosaka. He watched as domestic geese soared past and questioned whether he would ever be able to fly himself.

Jugo’s Personality

When Jugo debuted in Naruto Shippuden, he looked like someone who really wanted to kill anyone in front of him. However, Jugo didn't want to murder anyone; in actuality, he is a nice man and Karin noticed, as his only usual behavior when he was angry. His kindness extends to various animals, as he has no trouble in gaining their trust.

He despises anyone who would harm animals and beause of his unpredictable and uncontrollable outbursts, he deliberately chooses to be in a place where he can't hurt anyone. He is, nevertheless, eager to use his crazy side in combat because it improves his fighting skills.

He only decided to accompany Sasuke because he believes Sasuke is the only one who can stop him from killing people when he's angry, either using killer intent or the Sharingan. Sasuke serves as his "prison" in his mind which was a role that Kimimaro held before Sasuke, and because Kimimaro was the only person Jugo ever spoke with, the two developed a deep bond.

Jugo, who learned that Kimimaro gave his life to bring Sasuke to Orochimaru, he becomes completely loyal to Sasuke because he believes that Kimimaro's spirit lives on in him. Even after Taka was disbanded and Sasuke left them in the Land of Iron, Jugo found his way back to Sasuke and replied when questioned that his place was next to him as his shield.

At first, Suigetsu couldn't bear Jugo and said it was one of the reasons he had to obtain the Kubikiribocho. Karin mentioned Jugo's mental instability, which was proven when Jugo began muttering about the next person he would kill and how he would choose their gender.

About Jugo's split personalities, Pain referred to him as "Jugo of the Scales" when speaking with the other Akatsuki members about Sasuke Uchiha's squad. He is cowardly in his regular state and violent when his natural energy takes over, according to the third databook. He's also been described as someone who "moves at his own pace."

Appearance

Jugo is tall and muscular and has orange hair and red-orange eyes. He used to wear a pair of blue shorts and a yellow shirt. He was first seen wearing a light blue top and light green shorts. He wore black pants, a purple curtain that he used as a cape, and brown sandals when Tamaki later went to find him some clothes. Jugo was seen donning an Akatsuki robe after Taka joined forces with them.

Years later, while working for Orochimaru, he developed a more defined jawline and began wearing his hair up with the sides cut short. He is dressed in a ragged, dark-colored cloak.

Jugo in Sage Cursed Mode

When transformed into his sage mode side, he develops different weapons and limbs to suit his battle combat circumstances, as well as having a crazy appearance. His skin also darkens, his irides turn a pale yellow while his sclerae become black, and these changes are accompanied by his irides becoming darker.

Abilities

He was one of the strongest test subjects of Orochimaru and also one of the strongest team members of Taka. Because of his battle strength and power, both Sasuke and Orochimaru wanted him on their team.

When mentioning the quality of Sasuke's former crew and how they had modified their DNA and talents, Kabuto also subtly complimented Jugo. Jugo can understand and communicate with animals, such as birds, which may be dispatched on long missions to scout out potential areas and gather information before reporting back.

Jugo has the ability to absorb chakra through physical contact and rapidly heal the majority of wounds. He demonstrated this ability when he infused Sasuke's Susanoo with senjutsu chakra. Some of Jugo's natural changes are earth, Water, Wind, and Yang Release.

Jugo’s Sage Transformation

Jugo has the Sage Transformation talent, which enables him to change his body at will using the natural energy he absorbs, just like the other members of his tribe. He can isolate the transformation to certain areas of his body and change what form he takes practically immediately.

Because of this he has enormous stores of potent chakra but he and his clansmen are subject to random and uncontrollable rage outbursts due to his ongoing absorption of natural energy. Jugo has transformed his body into a variety of forms as a result.

When he made his debut, he transformed his left arm into a piston-like ram to improve the power of his punches before turning it into a huge ax blade to block Suigetsu's sword. Jugo formed a group of arm-boosters to throw his teammates far away and to produce more powerful punches while Taka was engaged in combat with Killer B.

In order to outrun a Version 1 Killer B's Lightning Release: Lariat at the last second, he additionally built another set of boosters onto his back to accelerate up.

Jugo can also reach far with his arms to grasp targets many feet distant. He has the capacity to change his shape, but his natural energy intake and transformation level also affect other physical traits, including speed, strength, endurance, resistance, and durability. His changes increased in the years that followed the conflict.

Jugo’s Full Sage Transformation

Jugo's abilities as a whole receive a significant boost, but his voice changes as he succumbs to his bloodthirsty side. His skin gets dark and his sclera turns black when he transforms. In addition to that, he develops a black stripe that runs from the center of his forehead to the bridge of his nose.

Jugo is very tough and possesses quick reflexes in this full form, as seen by his ability to react to and take a strike from the Fourth Raikage's lightning-enhanced form. That was despite the fact that it pierced both his arm and chest while still being able to retaliate practically right away easily. He developed Multiple Lotus Nonself Connected Cannons on his back that could destroy the surroundings while also transforming his arm into a shield to defend himself.
