Kaneki, a business owner, made a risky decision in one of his chemical plants to compete with rival companies, even though he was warned about the danger. This caused an explosion that killed many people. He falsely blamed the project developer, Mikazuki Amaashi, who had died in the incident.
Later, a mysterious killer called the Rain Killer started targeting and killing people connected to the explosion. The police offered Kaneki protection, but he refused, thinking his own bodyguards were enough. However, the police secretly guarded him without his knowledge and stopped a kidnapping attempt. But a second attempt succeeded because the killer changed their approach.
Kaneki was taken to Mikazuki's grave, but he survived because someone named Mitsuki defeated Samidare Amaashi. Due to these events, new charges were filed against Kaneki, and the explosion investigation was reopened.
Kaneki's personality can be described as ambitious, reckless, and manipulative. He is determined to maintain his reputation at any cost, even if it means taking dangerous risks and blaming others for his mistakes. He can be stubborn and unwilling to accept help or advice, often putting him in risky situations.
Kaneki has long white hair and wrinkles on his face. He is older looking short, height man and wears purple Kimono under that dark grey shirt.
