Due to his limited appearances in the series, close to nothing is known about his lineage or background other than the fact that his father was the former Master Carpenter about 30 years ago before the start of the series.
Kanna was in charge of the project to rebuild Konoha. To do so, Kanna hired a lot of help from foreign workers, including Genno, a renowned Trap Master from the Kagero Village.
Kanna made his debut in Konoha Plans Recapture Mission. In the arc, Kanna held a meeting with the members of Konoha 11. In the meeting, Kanna gave Shikamaru Nara a list of all the blueprints that Genno had stolen. He then informed Shikamaru and the rest about how Genno came into the Hidden Leaf and his letter of recommendation, which turned out to be a fake.
Later, Shikamaru told Kanna that several other blueprints are also missing, other than the ones on the list, which took Kanna by surprise. This little detail about his life is the only information about Kanna available to the series' fans. Kanna is just a part of the Naruto anime and does not appear or receive any mentions in the Naruto series manga, making him a non-canon character in the series.
Kanna is a responsible and well-organized man. He is very kind and loyal to Konoha, as witnessed by his eagerness to help the Konoha 11 with the search. Kanna can also be described as a proud man, as he refused to face Tsunade Senju, the Fifth Hokage, ever again as the blueprints were stolen under his clock.
Kanna is a middle-aged man with a tan skin tone, brown eyes, and thin black eyebrows. He has a short crop of black hair and a full black beard with a mustache. He wears a white headband around his forehead, a white shirt underneath a purple kimono-like piece of clothing with blue trimmings, paired with black pants and a pair of sandals.
Kanna is a carpenter, and based on the information at hand, he does not possess any combat capabilities.
Shikamaru claimed his papers were blueprints, but Tsunade later claims they were simply letters.
