Some time ago, Kedama got arrested because of a crime not mentioned in the anime, and upon arriving at Hozuki Castle, Kedama didn't get along well with the guards. He kept getting into fights with them, and this made the other prisoners like him a lot. He became really good friends with a fellow prisoner named Kiku. Together, they came up with a plan to escape from the prison. Their plan needed a lot of rain, and Kiku thought it would rain soon.
On the night they were going to put their plan into action, there was no rain in sight. So, Kedama decided to stay in his cell and wait, thinking they would have to delay their escape. However, to his shock, he later discovered that Kiku was right, and it started raining heavily.
When Kedama rushed to find Kiku, he saw that Benga had hurt Kiku. Benga said that Kedama's plan would have worked if he had come on time, but Kedama was too late. Benga decided to punish Kedama by telling everyone, including the guards and the other prisoners, that Kedama had betrayed his best friend. As a result, the other prisoners got angry and became well-behaved again, just like Benga wanted.
Boruto and Mitsuki enter a prison cell as prisoners so they can find out information about the Mujin Bandit group. They were in a prison cell with three other prisoners, including Kedama. They discovered an important card had gone missing, and the whole prison was locked down. Boruto and Mitsuki thought someone in their cell had taken it.
They searched for the card in Kedama's stuff, but he said he didn't take it. Another guy named Arai said Kedama had worked with the guards before, so they were suspicious. But then, Arai accidentally revealed that he knew a secret about one of the inmates, Kokuri. That showed he was the real thief because only the cellmates should know that secret. A fight happened, and Kedama stopped Arai and handed him to the guards.
Later, a new leader took over the prison, Benga. Kedama noticed Boruto and Mitsuki talking to Sarada, who was a student journalist. Mitsuki, who was actually a ninja undercover, questioned Kedama about his past, but Kedama didn't want to get involved. He promised not to reveal Mitsuki's secret.
Sarada goes missing, and Kedama sees Benga acting strangely. Kedama talks to a guy named Doragu, who he thinks might be working for Benga. Kedama uses his strength to keep Doragu quiet. Benga helps Sarada in the underground basement to tell her about the exit.
After Benga is no longer the boss, Kedama changes. He becomes more peaceful and starts taking care of the prison's garden.
Kedama begins as a tough troublemaker but later becomes calm and helpful. He cares for a garden in the prison and doesn't want to get involved in problems or hurt others anymore.
Kedama has long black hair with a circular hair clip around his forehead. He has a huge muscular body and light green eyes. He wears a prisoner-orange jumpsuit, and inside, he wears a grey t-shirt.
