Tragically, Yahiko died in a conflict, greatly affecting Nagato and leading him to embrace the Rinnegan.

The Rinnegan is a dojutsu that grants its user immense power, including the ability to control life and death. With this newfound power, Nagato adopted the alias "Pain" and formed the Akatsuki, a group of rogue ninjas to bring peace to the world through brutal methods.

The first time, Nagato used it against some shinobi of Konoha to know the location of Naruto Uzumaki. Nagato also used it against Naruto Uzumaki and Killer B when Kabuto Yakushi used Reanimation jutsu on him, but it was Itachi Uchiha who defeated him which meant he wasn’t able to take Naruto's soul.
