Komugi in Naruto

There is not much information about Komugi's past as in the anime, but he is a genin ranked shinobi and graduated from Konoha Ninja Academy, making an appearance in Naruto Episode: 25, "The Tenth Question: All or Nothing!" He and his teammates were disqualified because he quits when Ibiki Morino came up with the tenth question with the condition in the first stage of his first chunin exam which was held in Konohagakure. His teammates also were disqualified because he gave up.

A few years later, in Naruto’s Footsteps arc, Komugi and his teammates again participated in the chunin exams held by Konoha village and Sunagakure (the Village Hidden in the Sand). The first stage was a written test and every team member was sent to a different room.

The team has to score 100 points together but because they were in different rooms, they couldn’t know which question they should attempt which made them frustrated and then Komugi alongside other shinobi started shouting. Neji Hyuga came for help and told them his plan but then one Sunagakure Shinobi tried to ruin it although despite that they were able to pass the 1st stage

Komugi and his team were also able to clear the 2nd round of the 1st stage. They had to reach Sunagakure from Konoha village in a given time and they were able to reach it there on time.

The next day, Temari instructed the rules of the 2nd stage, in which all teams should have two scrolls to pass the Heaven and Earth scroll exam. Komugi and his teammate came against Team Ajisai and there they fought them but they believed that Team Komugi was a weak team and thus ran away as they thought it was just a waste of time.

Komugi and his team again found Team Ajisai and this time, Rock Lee and Neji Hyuga came to their rescue. It forced Team Komugi to run away as they were afraid they would lose.

Later, when Gaara canceled the chunin exam, each village Hokage were given the performance details of each team's performance in the chunin exam and told to decide whom they should promote. Tsunade failed Team Komugi and told them that they could try next time.

Komugi has low confidence in himself and that’s why he gave up in the first chunin exam when Ibiki told the condition that if they were not able to answer correctly, they would never be able to become the chunin rank shinobi again. He also thinks he is very skilled, but he is not. He seems not a risk taker and wants to play safe.

Komugi wears an olive color jacket and a Konoha headband. He wears brown pants and has black hair. He has goatee style beard and wears blue sandals.

Komugi has good stamina and physical ability. He is good with Kenjutsu and also with Taijutsu, and is quick and knows basic genin rank shinobi skills.
