Koza Kubisaki’s Background

Not much is known about Koza Kubisaki’s past as he made little to no appearance in the anime. Additionally, he is only a part of the Naruto anime, making him a filler, non-canon character in the series.

Koza Kubisaki debuted in the Lady Daimyo Search Mission, where he was introduced as the deceased daimyo of the Land of Neck. In the arc, it was revealed that a hostile force approached Koza and his army fifty years before the beginning of the storyline, and most of his soldiers were ruthlessly slaughtered.

Koza reluctantly acknowledged that he would pass away by dusk but, in a last-ditch effort to eliminate his enemies, summoned Shiromari, a chameleon. Koza, however, passed away before he could cancel the summon, leaving Shiromari to assume the shape of the demolished castle and consume any onlookers who come too close.

In the current timeline, Shiromari continues to devour anyone who approaches what appeared to be a castle. It also devoured Kayo, the wife of the daimyo of the Land of Honey. These constant disappearances attracted the attention of Konohagakure, also known as the Village Hidden in the Leaves.

Tsunade Senju, the Fifth Hokage, dispatched Naruto Uzumaki, Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Akamaru to investigate the situation. Koza appeared in the form of a ghost and helped the Konoha genins and guided them to the summoning contract. They later released Shiromari’s summon, releasing it from its castle form and everyone who was trapped inside it.
