Manabu Akado’s Background

In the anime, it is stated the Manabu entered the Hidden Leaf Ninja Academy at the same time as Kakashi Hatake. However, after he graduated and became a genin, he tried multiple times to get promoted to a chunin, failing every time. He participated in the first round of the chunin exams at least eighteen times in his lifetime.

Akado made his debut in the Chunin Exams arc. Manabu participated in the Chunin Exams alongside Naruto Uzumaki and the others. It was his 18th attempt at the chunin exams. In the first phase of the exams, the written test proctored by Morino Ibiki, Manabu made it all the way through the tenth and final question, indicating that he passed the test.
