Team Minato was formed right after the trio graduated out of school. They were assigned to Minato Namikaze, a prodigal ninja who was called the saviour of the world. Minato taught them many things and emphasised on the importance of teamwork.

Kakashi Hatake always failed to capture this, since he himself was a prodigy. He believed in his ability to get things done by himself and always prioritised the mission over comrades. Eventually, the team participated in the Chunin exams, with only Kakashi Hatake passing.

Minato Namikaze was given a duty during the Third Shinobi war so the team’s leadership was temporarily given to Kakashi Hatake since he was already a jonin. However, they had an encounter with Iwagakure’s Ninja, who captured Rin Nohara. But while trying to rescue her, Obito lost his life and he gave Kakashi Hatake his Sharingan as a parting gift.

In another instance, Kakashi and Rin are sent on a mission yet again. During this encounter, Rin is made the Three Tails Jinchuriki by the enemy shinobi. Realising this, Rin asks Kakashi to kill her but he refuses. However, Rin jumps on Kakashi’s Lightning Blade, taking her own life. Obito, who was presumed dead, had been saved by Madara Uchiha and sees Rin being killed by Kakashi.

With now Kakashi, Obito and Minato being the only ones alive, Minato becomes Hokage, Kakashi joins the Anbu and Obito becomes an unknown rogue Ninja under the names Tobi and Madara Uchiha. By this time, Team Minato naturally disbanded.

Obito then launches an attack on the Hidden Leaf using the Nine Tails causing Minato to die. Kakashi believes he is the last member of the original team but is proven otherwise when he faces off against Obito in the Fourth Ninja war. After Minato is reincarnated, three of the original team reunite.

1. Minato Namikaze

Minato, also known as the Yellow Flash of the Leaf, was famous throughout the ninja world for his incredible speed as he could move from place to place with the blink of an eye. He was a prodigy and one that many thought would save the world, but quickly met his demise when defending Konoha from an attack by the Nine Tailed Fox.

2. Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi Hatake is a prodigy and the son of the White Fang of the Hidden Leaf. After his father’s sudden suicide, Kakashi felt he had something to prove and worked hard to earn the position of Chunin and even join the Anbu at a young age.

3. Rin Nohara

Rin Nohara was a sweet, caring girl from the Hidden Leaf who prioritised the safety of the village and friends over her own life. She ends up sacrificing her life in order to save the village after she was forcibly made the Jinchuriki of the 3 Tails.

4. Obito Uchiha

Obito Uchiha was a sweet, understanding young man from the Hidden Leaf who was corrupted by Zetsu and used as a pawn by Madara Uchiha. While he was left to die after a collapse, he recovered only to see Rin, the girl he loved dying in Kakashi’s hands.
