Nurui in Naruto

Very little is known about Nurui as his past is still shrouded in mystery. In the series, Nurui was introduced as a Kumogakure shinobi and a Third Division of the Allied Shinobi Forces member.

Nurui debuted in the anime in the Fourth Shinobi World War: Confrontation Arc. In the storyline, Nurui became the de facto leader of Yurui’s squad after his untimely demise. After the remaining group members gathered, Nurui determined that the remaining men of Yurui's squad should flee from Ameyuri Ringo, a Kirigakure kunoichi and a member of the previous generation of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist who Kabuto Yakushi reincarnated, even if their comrades fell one by one.

Omoi was against Nurui’s decision and objected to it, which started a fight. Nurui tried to persuade him, but Omoi discarded this and tried to Ameyuri. Nurui and Kayui went after Omoi and were later rendered incapacitated by one of Ringo’s attacks. Soon after, Ameyuri was trapped in a marsh trap.

As it turned out, Nurui and the others had planned this entire scenario and were merely directing Ameyuri to the location.

Nurui is a cautious and intelligent man. However, his cautious nature seems like cowardice to others. When faced with imminent danger, Nurui chose to flee instead of fighting, prioritizing the lives of his comrades and himself.

Nurui is loyal to his comrades, willing to lay down his life for them; however, he believes that a person should not risk their lives unnecessarily.

Nurui is a fair-skinned man with shoulder-length brown hair, green eyes, thin eyebrows, and a tall, lean physique. He is dressed in the attire of a Kumogakure shinobi, consisting of a dark shirt, a pair of matching pants, a white belt-like accessory that he wears diagonally on his torso, and sandals. He also wore the Allied Shinobi Force forehead protector.

Nurui is a shinobi of Kumogakure, capable enough to be selected as an Allied Shinobi Forces member. He is an excellent strategist and a quick thinker. He set fake traps with wire strings, just giving off the impression to the enemy that they were giving a fight while running away.

However, he was actually luring Ringo to a specific location where he had set traps alongside Kayui and Yurui with the help of Earth Release and the pre-existing environment. He also has high resilience and endurance, as he survived a Lightning Release by Ameyuri.

Nurui is the Japanese word for “tepid” or “lukewarm.”
