Penjira in Naruto

Penjira was addicted to gambling, and when he owed too much money, he would marry women and take their dowry to pay off his debts. He'd then go back to gambling, get into debt again, and the cycle continued. Eventually, he got caught trying to marry someone and was sent to the Astronomy Research Institute for a one-year prison term.

Since his sentence was shorter than others, he volunteered to manage the Institute's archives, hoping it would lead to an early release for good behavior. On the first day of Sasuke's imprisonment, he went to lunch with Penjira, Ganno, and Jiji, but then a few other prisoners tried to fight Sasuke, who defeated them easily.

Penjira and Jiji decided to play a gambling game with cigarettes as bets. They asked two other cellmates, Ganno and Sasuke Uchiha, but only Sasuke showed interest. However, Sasuke changed the bet to a valuable gem, and Penjira was skeptical because he had nothing to match its worth. They agreed that if Penjira lost, he would owe Sasuke a favor.

Sasuke secretly used a trick to win the first round of the game, which made Penjira suspicious, but cheating was allowed in prison as long as it couldn't be proven. Penjira accepted defeat and asked about the favor. Sasuke wanted Penjira to act as a lookout while he left the cell, but Penjira was afraid of a creature named Meno that enforced the prison rules. Instead, Penjira agreed to create a distraction for the guards so that Sasuke could go on his own.

One day, Penjira fell asleep in the archives while using a book as a pillow. Sasuke woke him up and joked that using books as pillows wouldn't help him escape prison early. Penjira, who couldn't read, liked looking at pictures in a book about ancient dragons, even though he couldn't understand the text.

Sasuke asked Penjira for help in finding an astronomy book. Penjira pointed him to the book catalog. Sasuke found the right book but realized it was in the basement, which was off-limits for prisoners because it contained valuable documents. Anyone caught there would face execution.

In prison, the new doctor, Sakura Haruno, overheard Penjira and Sasuke discussing a basement section with valuable books. She wanted access but couldn't go there because prisoners risked execution. So, she made a deal with Penjira: if she won a game of his choice, he would give her the key to the basement. They played a complex card game called Hoshinarabe, with many prisoners watching.

After many rounds, Penjira thought he had won, but Sakura had the same hand, so they tied. They played more rounds, resulting in ties, so Penjira got tired and gave her the key. He warned her that the book she wanted might be missing because a man named Orochimaru had stolen some documents.

Later, another prisoner, Jiji, claimed to understand Meno's patrol schedule, a creature responsible for prison security. Penjira and Ganno were skeptical, but when Menō walked by their cell as predicted, they were surprised. Jiji encouraged them to pet Meno's head, and Ganno did it without problems.

Penjira tried but accidentally stepped outside the cell, technically "escaping." Sasuke warned him, and Jiji saved him from Menō's attack. Penjira was grateful to Jiji for his help.

A few nights later, dragons suddenly appear in the prison and start attacking the prisoners. Penjira manages to avoid the dragons initially and meets up with Ganno. They find Sakura fighting the dragons. When Sakura knocks one dragon down, Ganno and Penjira jump on it, trying to stop its wounds from healing by hitting its knees. Other prisoners join in, keeping the dragons busy until Sasuke and Sakura can return them to the afterlife.

Penjira is a person who often engages in risky behavior, especially when it comes to gambling. He enjoys playing games of chance, even putting himself in difficult situations. This shows that he might be impulsive and not very cautious about the consequences of his actions.

Penjira has a shaved goatee, and like everyone else in the Astronomy Research Institute prison, he wears their standard prison jumpsuit. He is a short, slim man with tan skin, blue eyes, and gray-black hair in a mullet pompadour style.
